Yea. Though it's not really that impressive of a milestone when in the end Sony does in 10 years what Nintendid in 4.

I'm not really a fan of desperate downplaying, but that was a very good attempt. Well done.

You might want to check your numbers though.

i say gba cus psp is easy to hack

What does hacking have to do with Lifetime sales?

less people will buy PSP coz its easier to hack?? =P

:p

on topic: I can see the psp selling a bit less than a million if Sony does not stop production some time soon.

possibly misunderstood the thread title?

He is right tho, got a psp1000 and pspgo both hacked my pspgo has the full GBA library on it even heh.

I bought the go infact just because it was hackable since I had no intention of rebuying all my psp games from psn again.

What you say clearly makes sense. I just didn't understand what he was saying. Had he said, "the psp will sell more because it's easily hackable", sure. But "i say gba cus psp is easy to hack" means what exactly? Anyway, I guess we'll see when/if he replies.

I say PSP because it managed to stay relevant for 10 years now and people are still buying it, despite the age it has. Also I remember the year it came out, PSP's specs were highly praised and a big achievement for the time. Sales wise it's easily going to surpass the GBA this year or next, easily.

lol at Sony fans in full defense mode,,,,

GBA sold the same in much less time is that so hard to accept?

PSP sold that much because of easy hacking and because Sony is milking it cause Vita is not really flying off the shelves.

If Vita had been a hit PSP would be dead long ago.
They are selling it for 99$ with multiple games for the love of god.
I even bought myself one.

There was also the GBA, GBAsp, the GBAsplite and the GBAmicro many of which sold around the 99dollar price point. Regarding Piracy the tie ratio for the Psp is about 4:1 so it's not like every one of those 80million people didn't go out and buy a handful of games too.

PSP has already outsold one of the Gameboy versions. Dunno why GB and GBC are lumped together on wiki because they're not the same generation. Might aswell throw in GBA too.

If you want to do that, I think you should split up any of the PSP versions with hardware upgrades since that would suddenly be "not the same generation" anymore.

But seriously, Gameboy color was a Gameboy with color.  GBA actually was a different system.  What wouldn't make sense is do what you're saying to do and split GB and GBC sales.  GBC was effectively used as a GB.

It doesn't:

Units sold Worldwide: 118.69 million (including Game Boy (Play it Loud!), Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Light and Color units)
Game Boy: 87.66 million
Game Boy Color: 31.03 million

So contrats to Sony on the PSP outselling a Nintendo Portable which happened about 2007/8?

Also of note, the fifth generation was the only one where a Nintendo home console outsold its handheld, N64>GBC.

Why are you linking wikipedia when I asked in my first comment why they are lumped together. GBC is not another iteration of the Gameboy, it is a whole new handheld with better graphics.
