PS1 and 2 massivley grew the market to a point where we could have multiple big systems, to go back to 1 clear winner would mean a reduction in the industry and that would be bad for those that work in it.

lol no it would not, clear winner would have the same massive sales like ps and ps2 while the others being after thoughts.  Ps4 is doing exactly that.

we just had a gen totalling 260M, 1 console could not do that on its own.

This could happen, if Xbone does get into the 500k area then that would be incredible, it would mean a pretty big boost from TF but I don't think its actually that improbable, I can see it happening. The PS4 number solely depends on how much stock Sony will send. Should be above 350k, considering theres increased stock already and March is a five week month. It just dpends how much more Sony decides to send to counter Titanfall, I can see the PS4 reaching 400k if they send a lot.

Why in the hell not, as in any market if there is enough demand it will be satisfied.  As with PS2 selling 150m which seemed impossible at that time 200m might seem impossible now yet might be done this gen.  Also your numbers are fad sales inflated, add the fact last gen was one of of the worst for devs with the market to fragmented.  One clear winner even with lower over all sales is far better for the industry. 

3rd prties dont care about 3 consoles, they rather focus on two even if it limites their over user base to sale to... yet they do it as it makes more sense, even wiis huge user base was an after thought to most devs.

People are accounting digital sales as well.
And with such a small margin and Nintendo's data of strong digital sales for BD, it should be you who needs to prove LR had over 40k in digital sales.
