Kind of puts this weeks numbers into perspective don't it?

Yes. Due to Sony's March 2 6M WW announcement, we know PS4 is as overtracked in Europe as undertracked has been in USA.

They actually said "surpassed 6M" so there is no guarantee of overtracking anywhere.

Plus they didn't take long to get accurate numbers, they announced them 2 days after their date, so 6m was probably just a rough minimum. PS4 could have been and probably was past 6.1m at that point.

what could explain so much difference from january?
1 week more?

MS is gonna win March I think, Titanfall is definitely moving systems at least in my area.

I'm guessing since Nintendo is not saying anything about 3DS numbers that those are down YoY (since they only mentioned Wii U because it was up YoY slightly).

BenVTrigger continues to be correct. Idc about all this ethomaz business, BenV isnt biased and he continues to be right when he says or hints at things for us.

Like I said, last weeks numbers for the PS4 should have been 6.1 million. This weeks numbers should be around 6.2 - 6.3 million for the PS4.

Yup, this is what I am thinking now.

The gap between the to consoles was 2.4 million two weeks ago. The PS4 has outsold the X1 by 150,000 units in those two week according to VGC. The gap is STILL 2.4 million. That doesn't make sense. VGChartz made the mistake of taking 6 million and adjusting European and American numbers in accordance with that number. Sony said 'surpassed' 6 million.

Yes, as soon as Sony announced the 6m I knew it was probably more than that because they only announced it 2 days later, so their results weren't extremely accurate. When I saw VGC numbers it was obvious that they had done this and then the lastest numbers are just baffling.

They need to adjust the figures now before those numbers get too difficult to bury somewhere. Just bring it up to NPD numbers and have done with it. If this carries on they'll be over 200,000 out by next week. It's stupid.

The PS5 Exists.

"With Xbox One and Xbox 360 combined, the Xbox platform sold more hardware than any other home console platform and held 43 percent of the home console market share in the U.S."

Lmao there's still doing this crap? Just be happy the XBO did so well this month, no need to combine platforms.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I can't even begin to imagine why XBO had such a massive increase. Strange.

Perhaps an NPD adjustment month. If they mess up in previous months, they post an unusually high or low amount to bring the lifetime numbers in line with reality.

Has that actually happened before?

Yeah, it happened quite a lot at the start of last gen. The xbone increase makes no sense at all... why did thousands of people wait until February, instead of January, to buy one?

Xbox One Continues Most Successful Launch in Xbox History

By Xbox Wire Staff

The wait is over and “Titanfall” has arrived to broad critical acclaim. Since it launched on Tuesday, the Xbox community has been out in force playing “Titanfall” on Xbox Live. “Titanfall" is landing throughout Europe this week and the Xbox team has been excited to celebrate with thousands of fans at launch events around the world and with hundreds of thousands of fans via the broadcast on Twitch.

February NPD Group figures released today showed that Xbox One continues selling at a record-breaking pace with 258,000 units sold in the U.S. in the month of February, surpassing Xbox 360 sales by over 61 percent at the same point in time.

And, Xbox 360 continues to grow its install base with 114,000 units sold in February in the U.S. in its 100
th month on the market in the U.S., more than any other seventh generation console. The growing fan base for Xbox 360 will have their opportunity to play “Titanfall,” when it launches on Xbox 360 on March 25.

With Xbox One and Xbox 360 combined, the Xbox platform sold more hardware than any other home console platform and held 43 percent of the home console market share in the U.S.

Highlights from February 2014 NPD include:

  • Xbox One continues to see impressive software sales with an average of 2.75 games sold per console.
  • Xbox One sold 772,000 games in February and Xbox 360 sold 2.46 million, totaling 48 percent of the total software market share (Xbox 360 and Xbox One combined).
  • During the month of February, Xbox One and Xbox 360 both held five of the top 10 spots on the generation eight and generation seven console game lists in the U.S. respectively:
    • Xbox One top titles in the generation eight console game title list in the U.S. include: “NBA 2K14,” “Battlefield 4,” and “Thief,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” and “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.”
    • Xbox 360 top titles in the generation seven console game title list in the U.S. include:  “NBA 2K14,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” “Fable Anniversary,” “Grand Theft Auto V,” “Minecraft,” “The LEGO Movie Videogame.”

It’s been a big month for Xbox One, with the launch of a significant
system update with improved matchmaking, party chat and friends features that make gaming on Xbox One an experience like no other, and the launch of Twitch and “Titanfall.” Xbox One is available in 13 markets around the world, with many more coming this year.

All data from NPD Group, February 2014

Well, would you look at that, some MS PR that gives you clear information and doesn't spin anything, I'm impressed. Congratz on a great month MS.
