Forums - Sales - The PS4 is a MAJOR flop in Japan - we need to talk about it

There are a lot more important and interesting regions. I guess Japan is the only interesting fall back point for a Nintendo die hard.

Japan is still in a lot of ways the homeland of gaming ... which is why seeing its industry collapse upon itself like this is sad.

It would be like if the movie business fell apart in North America and all people did was watch reality TV shows.

"It's supply constraints!" say everybody, ignoring the fact there is plenty of stock in Japan.

Apparently, Sony fans would prefer to think their favorite company is inept at allocation than accept that Japan's interest in consoles is shrinking.

Yeah, it's amazing, really. Seeing all hardware crashing in Japan compared to a few years back, it's nothing short of incredible that people are still arguing against it, it's established fact since long ago that Japan's console market is shrinking and has been for quite some time.

I am surprised by Japan changing, but it has little effect on my life , and that is why I brush it aside. Plus, it is a Rol thread so I always wonder at the motivatrion behind it,

A collapse of the film industry would have a direct impact on my life so I would care a lot more.

This is preposterous; let's at least wait until it's had its first holiday season before we judge it.

Ha !

Your AA5 Wright beat you to the punch !

Taking into account they wont be getting the X1 and that the Wii U is seeing low sales... i wonder if we can call it a flop...

Awesome! A rol "insert Sony product is flopping" thread. Like the Vita and PS3 before it, this only means good things for the PS4 as itll have a somewhat tough first year but with price cuts and 3rd party support ( for which sony flopping systems are known for) the consoles turnaround is foreshadowed.

Meanwhile, we will continue to question why the nintendo leaders continue to struggle with sales even though they have the userbase and top first and 3rd party games for the system.

PS4 is doomed, VR is stupid, Sony will be broke soon, Japan doesn't matter, Knack is not a game.... etc. Did i miss something? Hail Xbox, maybe?

Indeed, there is no denying the PS4 isn't the saviour of home consoles in Japan that many people wanted it to be.

I wouldn't call it a MAJOR flop, I think it's an EPIC flop. Selling less than the Wii U in it's third week is absolute doom.
