does anyone prefer Retro studios DK games over Rare?
I think you can make an argument for Retro, but Rare laid the groundwork for a wonderful franchise, that technically Retro just built upon. however, i will say level design and the creativity of the enemies is pretty good by Retro, not that Rare was bad, but the gameplay of Rare and its character traits beats Retro.
I wasn't a fan of blowing on flowers in DKCR, so I'm glad they took that out, but i miss being able to just play as diddy, dixie and kiddy.
over all
I'd say Rare still holds the better DK games. what do the rest of you think?

Nowdays RARE is a very mediocre developer, but, back in the day they strenght came from pushing the limits of SNES and gaming, in graphics, depht (Conker) and technology (CGI sprites on DK SNES and KI). Now, it is just a mere shadow of it´s former self. But, as a plataformer game developer it was pretty decent and, in that aspect I do agree Retro seems even more inspired and talente, DK Tropical Freeze looks gorgeous and very fun, altought not ground breaking or revolutionary by any means in terms of graphics.
Back in the day, when I saw and heard Donkey Kong Country for the first time on my SNES, I almost cry, it was so intense, so beautiful, almos magical, i COULD NOT believe my console could deliver such a experience, it was in truth a amazing surprise.
Nowdays, everything is on the table, nothing surprise us because we all know what these console can do and they barelly reach our expectations.
We live in such a diferent age now...
