Sony has revealed that  Infamous: Second Son has more pre-orders than last year’s blockbuster The Last of Us had at the same point prior to launch.

The upcoming super hero title is Sony’s first big PlayStation 4 game of 2014, and the publisher is putting a lot of money behind promoting the game. Second Son will see a multi-million pound TV and video on demand campaign, as well as a month-long cinema push.

“We have high expectations for Infamous: Second Son and are excited by the level of pre-orders which are exceeding that of The Last of Us at this point in the run up to its launch,” said SCE UK product manager Josh Walker.

“We can already see it benefitting from the goodwill and of buzz surrounding the PlayStation 4 and expect Second Son to be the biggest game in the Infamous series to date.”

If only GT6 launched on the PS4, what could've happen....

It will never happen, but how crazy would it be if Infamous had a stronger opening week than TLOU, all those people that still doubt the game'll reach 3 million would instantly be silenced. :D

3 million is a bit too much. 2 million is a good number. But we have to wait a month to see the actual result.

I wouldnt bat an eye if it out sold Tlos first week and ISS passed 5m lt, i am stareved for PS4 games as im sure others are as well.  Given PS4 sales and this really being one of the true 8th gen titles.   It has everything going for it, if it gets good reviews and a meta +8 its sales will be awesome.  Some good replayablility and maybe quality well priced dlc to maintain interest.

Well, shouldn't it have a higher ore order number as well?? I mean, this is the third game in the series, so it has a following already, while TLOU was a new IP...

What did The Last of Us in it's first week. Wasn't it around 1 million worldwide. I actually think that Infamous will have a 350k FW in US and about the same in Europe. Other regions + bundles will get at around 1 million in total hopefully. If it does the same numbers as TLoU this early in the gen then it'll will be huge!!

Interesting, considering the difference in install base.
