pretty much this.

at the end of november major nelsons masterful spin of "fastest selling console" we saw a lot of pro MS articles.

at the end of 2013 were we saw 3.9 vs 4.2 we saw a lot of articles saying things were in a "virtual tie".

at the end of january when ps4 outsold xbone 2:1 in january we so a bunch of "it's too early to tell but..." articles.

real doom articles won't appear until the Q1 shipment figures are out which frankly was the same with wiiU.  it wasn't until the disastrously low Q1 shipment numbers that the mass media started dooming the wiiU.

Probably because the Xbox One is still selling really well. If you compare anything to the PS4, right now, yeah its bombing. With no comparisons made, the Xbox One is selling fairly well.

well, depending on how Q1 shipments go.  xbone will be compared to ps4 for sure.  if xbone is dramatically below ps4 than yeah, i would expect the media will pick up on that story.

in the january - febuary period xbone is being outsold by 360's sales in that same time period (jan-feb following it's first holiday).  xbone had a wonderful start but it's been a rocking post-holiday by any standard.

Because MS has oodles of money. And even if they had to sell the Xbox division to someone else, the One could still be very successful



I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

XBONE had a great first two months, but yea Dec 31 onward it's been selling bad.

They've only seen one poor NPD and some MS press releases about record breaking XBOX launches in the US and Australia. Give it time.

yeah, i dunno if you ever look at my goalpost chartz thread but at the current rate xbone will have completely eliminated it's launch sales advatage in 4 weeks.  ..as in the xbox one vs. xbox 360 gap will be negative.  titanfall will probably come just in time to reverse or at least delay that a while but as it stands right now xbone's sales need to double to stay even with the 360.
