11. There's a fairly great risk that it won't be very good.

Based of the fact that?...

It's a cover based 3rd person shooter with QTE's and they are generally quite bland.

and yet people forget that this game is more thanthat

And what exactly is that? It took forever to show any gameplay and what little we've seen looks fairly run-of-the mill. I like the camera-work a lot but it looks like another 7th gen thirteen-on-the dozen production with dazzling visuals. It looks very linear and boxed in and QTE's are the devil in my eyes. I have yet to see anything that sets this apart and lends the promise of greatness.

What is it that makes this game appear so good or even amazing then?

I will also say that the setting has real potential; I'm somewhat obsessed with victorian London, such atmosphere and a fascinating mix of grime and muck and upper class.

why so salty?

this is the other side of the game that u will see at E3.

wich game u saw that looks revolutionary?

wich kind of games do u play? seriously. i wanna see if u have any kind of moral to say this looks bland

Salty? I just don't understand what the fuzz is all about, it looks like a jazzed up version of the same meal we've had for 6-7 years now.

Which games did I see that looked revolutionary at E3, is that what you mean? I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you mean here. If that is the question, the answer is; none, and that's not necessarily a problem in and on itself, but everything looks and plays exactly the same today. There is no creativity, with few exceptions. Productions have become too costly to risk deviating from the set formulas they know will sell to the more mainstream customer, the "broader audience" as they call it. Franchises like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy and Diablo have been butchered in favor of this group and it's not good news for a varied, creatively sound and challenging gaming industry.

What does morals have to do with how I feel about games being bland? Is it immoral to dislike a game's concept? How is taste and moral connected? I'd really like to know. It seems like you and some others are the ones being salty here.

As for what games I play, I play RPG's, strategy (prefer turn-based), some shooters, racing sims, adventure games and so on. My fav games over the past few years are GT 5, Bastion, Mount & Blade, King's Bounty: Crossworlds, Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, Starcraft II, The Witcher 2, The Banner Saga, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Borderlands 2, Eador: Masters of the Broken World, and more.

Besides all the above; you have yet to inform me of what makes this game so special, I would sincerely like your input and for you to express your opinion instead of assaulting mine. Tell me what it is that makes this game so amazing, your avatar suggest that you're more hyped than average over this title and I honestly want to know why. You claim that I have to prove somehow that I'm worthy of having my opinion, how about proving how yours is more valid?

QTE's to make "melee combat as you never seen before", really?

The gadgets (monocular to search for fires... com'on lol) and game pad for morse code sounds very gimmicky.

It's just one of these meaningless promo articles.

Well while I do not feel you are wrong in what you are saying I guess I just look at ti differently.

Like my thoughts...maybe they didn't show much gameplay because they are trying to keep it under wraps until they are ready to show what the game will play like. Also while the game(gameplay wise from the extremely little we have seen anyway) doesn't look any different from what we have seens o far why is that a bad thing? We have had some AMAZING games that have played VERY WELL. So as long as this one runs just as well and plays just as smoothyl if not better then I guess I don't see a problem with it.

QTEs are personal preference of course I like QTEs myself and find them engrossing and rewarding. Others don't...can't plese everyone. Though we don't know how many QTEs there will be so can't really speak on that much yet.

Lastly you said in another post that it looks boxed in and liner. Well we have seen nowhere near enough of it to make that assumption just yet. Though it was said that you will have different ways to appraoch situations so that gives it a sort of freedom to it. And to be honest other than really open-world sandbox games almost ALL games are "linear" to an extent so I never really understood the complaint about games being linear. If that is the approach and take on teh game then what's wrong with it?

But again not saying that you are wrong in anyway just saying I look at it differntly. And more than anything I am excited about teh story, setting and characters...they look very interesting.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

so this game clearly is not for you. all those games that u listed are boring IMO.

this game looks awesome to me cuz it looks like the kind of game i love, but better.

I love horror, shooter, cinematic, story driven games.

u came to a thread about a game that u clearly have no interest, and criticize the game

The QTE with the neck-stabbing looked similar to the Walking Dead game which is QTE I am ok with rather than just 'Press X to Advance'.

2-3 minutes of footage isn't enough to give us any great exposure to the game but I will feel a little optimistic about this game. It looks great, that can not be argued. The 21:9 AR is an interesting choice but not something I'd be crazy for.

The shooting looked clunky but in fairness, the person playing it just seemed like a bad player. I hope it allows for a look of fluidity while playing. From the trailer it seems like you play for a few moments, then it kind of cuts away then back to play.

1. How is that unique? It's a quick time event. It's barely even combat.

This game really needs some color in it. It looks technically impressive but boring.

"Clearly no interest" is downright false though; I was actually excited about the prospect of a game in this setting and with this style.

You're right though; the game probably isn't for me when all is said and done, and the gameplay videos that showed up at long last all but confirm that. If you like story-driven games though, you should give The Witcher 2 a go, as well as The Banner Saga and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.Metro 2033 and Last Light are also something you should check out; amazing shooters. However; when you say you enjoy cinematic games, I get a feeling that you're somewhere in that broader audience crowd and none of the above mentioned in this post fit that bill very well.

I also find it somewhat strange that you can categorically claim that "all those games you listed are boring IMO", I doubt you've even played most of them. And, last but not least; even though I asked at least twice, you have yet to tell me/show me what it is that makes The Order: 1886 so awesome in your eyes.
