so this game clearly is not for you. all those games that u listed are boring IMO.

this game looks awesome to me cuz it looks like the kind of game i love, but better.

I love horror, shooter, cinematic, story driven games.

u came to a thread about a game that u clearly have no interest, and criticize the game

"Clearly no interest" is downright false though; I was actually excited about the prospect of a game in this setting and with this style.

You're right though; the game probably isn't for me when all is said and done, and the gameplay videos that showed up at long last all but confirm that. If you like story-driven games though, you should give The Witcher 2 a go, as well as The Banner Saga and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.Metro 2033 and Last Light are also something you should check out; amazing shooters. However; when you say you enjoy cinematic games, I get a feeling that you're somewhere in that broader audience crowd and none of the above mentioned in this post fit that bill very well.

I also find it somewhat strange that you can categorically claim that "all those games you listed are boring IMO", I doubt you've even played most of them. And, last but not least; even though I asked at least twice, you have yet to tell me/show me what it is that makes The Order: 1886 so awesome in your eyes.

See now I have to say. You enjoyed those games but none of them did nothing we haven't see before either. But they played VERY well which is what I liked about them. I guess I just don't see(outside of QTEs which you see as the devil lol) why you feel this game would be bland compared to those. I say give it a shot after we see more gameplay then make that assesment. Not trying to keep jumping in the conversation between you two I was just curious that's all.

actually i like the metro games they have a great sp campaign.

about the witcher 2 i played for a hour, and i didnt like it although im hyped for the witcher 3,

about the order. the setting looks really cool. i love the details on gameplay like the way tha camera follows you(like u said), the melee combat looks freaking awesome.

i like the way galahad moves it feels natural.

RAD said there will be a lot of puzzles

i cant wait to see those half-breeds, and i bet u wont use cover against it

if you watch the tv series dracula u will understand way i think the story behind this game will be awesome.

”The environment where PlayStation wins is best for this industry” (Jack Tretton, 2009)

I'm with Mummel on this one. Apart from atmosphere and visuals this just seems like another 3rd person shooter. Theres really nothing special about the gameplay that stands out.

As for why i and many others were expecting more? Well its a new gen!

Intel Core i7 3770K [3.5GHz]|MSI Big Bang Z77 Mpower|Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 2 x 4GB|MSI GeForce GTX 560 ti Twin Frozr 2|OCZ Vertex 4 128GB|Corsair HX750|Cooler Master CM 690II Advanced|

I'll definitely try it once I have the chance, I'm just very cautious about being excited for games that employ all the tricks of the trade from the 7th gen; I feel that most games used the same mechanics and the division between genres was somewhat smudged out, making the strongest elements of individual genres weaker in a sort of converging middle point (the cover and shooting mechanics in GTA IV were atrocious), almost all RPG's started leaning heavily towards action and adopted plain combat with "one button press = one hit" design or combo strikes without any skill or timing required, animations of visually crazy attacks triggered by mashing the same button (Skyrim and Assassin's Creed spring to mind).

I think I'm just sad that so many massive budgets went towards visual splendor and 7.1 uncompressed sound and so little went to good writing and actual depth and variation (depth in itself often yields variation). RPG's and strategy games took a massive hit and have been stripped down to the skeleton in order to appeal to the fabled "broader audience" that they need to sell enough copies to remain profitable.

Short version; I'll remain a skeptic with The Order until I get to actually try it myself and I feel like I recognize a lot of elements that made the 7th gen a 7-8 year old long letdown for me personally.
