#1. Is just silly. That's not happening.
#2. Definitely no. Not at the price it is currently at.
I'm not going to get into the entire list, but none of these predictions seem like they're edcated guesses.

All predictions seems more legit than the 11th.
| TornadoCreator said: I've seen a few people doing this on various sites and I decided to follow suit a little. Here are 12 predictions I'm making. Some of which are pretty solid, some are outlandish, but I think they're all possible. ---------------------------------------- #1 - Capcom will prepare to declare section 9 bankruptsy before the end of the year, and will almost sell the rights to various franchises. Nintendo will acquire Capcom. #2 - The Playstation Vita will not become a sleeper hit in the handheld market due to expensive memory and misguided target audience, even with a combination of decent games, remakes, and PS4 intergration making it desirable to more people. It'll scratch 10 million units by the end of the year. #3 - Microsoft won't announce that they're discontinuing the Xbox 360 because the system is still pushing software. They will also not name a date for switching off Xbox Live for 360s. Both will not be announced before the end of the year. #4 - Square Enix will tentatively announce or at least heavily hint at a remake for Final Fantasy VII. No details, no date, no gameplay will be shown. #5 - The Last Guardian will re-appear and it'll be announced that it's coming to PS4 rather than PS3, there will be a massive fan outcry. No release date will be given though. #6 - Titanfall will release with moderate to massive success. #7 - Nintendo won't announce an attachement that will allow you to play 3DS games on the Wii U. They may announce a firmware update that further integrates the two systems together, in prepetation for their new systems. #8 - Valve will fail to release Half-Life 3 for yet another year. #9 - Wii U will break 10 million sales by the end of the year. Third party games will still suffer though, selling statistically less than on other consoles. #10 - The Playstation 3 will dwindle in relevance, and possibly outsell the Xbox One globally in 2014. #11 - Brazil won't change it's import laws. They make a lot of money on those taxes and don't care what gaming companies say about it. #12 - World Of Warcraft will announce record levels of people unsubscribing and will have the lowest number of players since Burning Crusade. ---------------------------------------- So, what do you guys think? Are my predictions decent? Stupid? Inspired? Do you agree? Disagree? etc. |
Bold revisions.

Current consoles: Wii U, Gaming PC
Add me on Wii U! Adamjh99
Add me on Steam! GamingByAdam
I'll make a few:
1. Wii U will NOT reach 10 million life by the end of 2014
2. MK8 and Smash will not save the Wii U and will be considered commercial flops by reason of a majority
3. There will be a Titanfall announcement by EA. It's either Titanfall port or Titanfall 2 confirmed for PS4
4. Elder Scrolls Online will fail miserably and transition into some form of F2P
1. Capcom might be in trouble but bankruptcy doesn't seem likely.
2. In Vita we trust.
3. They won't shut down Live for the 360 when the console gets discontinued, just like they didn't with the OG Xbox.
4. Maybe, please be excited.
5. Not completely out of the question.
6. I don't think so, but server issues are almost certain.
7. No, probably not.
8. Yup
9. Hard to say at this point how well it will do.
10. Possible.
11. No idea what's going on in Brazil
12. Maybe.
Not going to debate how probable these predictions are, but one the first one: Nintendo would be mad not to bid for Monster Hunter. Having a core of Pokemon, Mario, Animal crossing AND Monster Hunter guaranteed exclusive to nintendo consoles would be huge in Japan.

Some of which are pretty solid, some are outlandish, but I think they're all possible. ---------------------------------------- #1 - Capcom will declare section 9 bankruptsy before the end of the year, and will sell the rights to various franchises. Nintendo will buy Mega Man. LOL. I don't think Japan has section 9. But IF that happens and IF Nintendo is buying MegaMan, that would be major trolling of Nintendo and result in another spicy meltdown. Still, it will not happen. Buying the MegaMan franchiose might be a reasonable thing for Nintendo to do, so you can be sure they will not do that. #2 - The Playstation Vita will become a sleeper hit in the handheld market due to a combination of decent games, remakes, and PS4 intergration making it desirable to more people. It'll top 12 million units by the end of the year. The Vita had dropping sales in 2013 in US and europe. Only market it got better sales was Japan - and only with Sony really trying (price cut, new model, games). I can't see why the trend in the West should reverse, so overall the sales will be even worse in 2014. That means the Vita will have difficulties to reach 10 millions, no way it will get to 12 million. #3 - Microsoft will announce that they're discontinuing the Xbox 360, they will also name a date for switching off Xbox Live for 360s. Both will be announced before the end of the year. Discontinuing the 360 may be possible, while I'm not sure, they might wait longer. Live will be active longer for sure. #4 - Square Enix will tentatively announce or at least heavily hint at a remake for Final Fantasy VII. No details, no date, no gameplay will be shown. I don't think so. No reason, I just don't think so. #5 - The Last Guardian will re-appear and it'll be announced that it's coming to PS4 rather than PS3, there will be a massive fan outcry. No release date will be given though. LOL. No idea if it will happen, but the 'no release date' part makes me laugh. Would be fun to watch the forum if that happens. #6 - Titanfall will release with moderate success, but will have server issues as most online games do and people will act like it's a massive betrayal. All but a small dedicated fanbase will fall away after 6 months or so and by the end of the year no-one will care about it. I don't think so. #7 - Nintendo will announce an attachement that will allow you to play 3DS games on the Wii U. That would be an exellent idea - so again: no way Nintendo does that. #8 - Valve will fail to release Half-Life 3 for yet another year. I agree. #9 - Wii U will break 10 million sales by the end of the year. Third party games will still suffer though, selling statistically less than on other consoles. While I think WiiU will be a bit better than Vita after the second full year (Vita is at 7.5 million), I don't believe it will reach 10 million. 8-9 million seem more likely. Don't think Mario Kart and and Smash will magically turn the momentum, if Mario and Donkey Kong failed to do that. #10 - The Playstation 3 will remain relevant, even outselling the Xbox One globally in 2014. It will still be relevant, yes. Outselling the One might happen, but I'm not sure about that. #11 - Brazil will change it's import laws, though not as much as people want. This will open up Brazil as a new market for consoles. No idea. #12 - World Of Warcraft will announce record levels of people unsubscribing and will have the lowest number of players since Burning Crusade. If they have record levels of unsubscribing, they will not announce anything. ---------------------------------------- So, what do you guys think? Are my predictions decent? Stupid? Inspired? Do you agree? Disagree? etc. |
Are you pulling these predictions out of a hat? You seem to have gotten lucky with one, however.
Some of these I just can't even.
As a brazilian I can say that Brazil changing its import taxes won't happen. This year.
There's a project that started in 2011, "Fair game" (translation). It didn't get much attention on the first 2 years.
I saw a lot of motion this year including meetings in the US. Maybe we can see some changes.
But, as far as I can say, PS4 official price of US$ 1800 showed us that the 11. prediction is pretty unlikely to happen.
