Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Smash Brothers has killed my desire to play video games...

I have no clue what mine is. I don't even know how to find it(never bothered to either) so we'll exchange FC once the game is closer to release and I start adding people. Make sure you give me an spic Brawl

I never wanted a game that much ... my first games that I was waiting was probably Warrior Within , Resident Evil 4 , The two thrones , Chains of Olympus ( now ) and thats it . I could allways play other games even if Im waiting for a big one ...

I simply just hoped popular and appropriate characters like Midna and Krystal included, there is no reason either couldn't have made the grade. Also since they said there was room for a third 3rd party character most of us assumed there would be one.

Dissapointed or not, Everyone in this thread expected a larger roster, stop kidding yourselves. I'm not that bothered by it, nor should anyone else, but to say I was unphased by it would have just been a lie. Honestly I'm bothered more by Wolf's Final Smash than the roster, but even then that's not a big deal what-so-ever.

I don't appreciate the fact everyone here assumes my comment on the issue means I had wide eyed expectations of everything from Sephiroth to George W. Bush being in this game. I may make fantasy roster threads, but that's more food for thought and something to do in the mean time until this game comes out.

You sure have an arrogant attitude sometimes. Not everyone who disagrees with you is "kidding themselves."

Read the whole thread next time. Nazna was the one attacking others.

Okay, there are 39 characters selectable from the menu of this game, compared to 26 from Melee, and 12 from 64. The increase in roster size was larger when you consider that there were 5 worthless characters from Melee removed, making a total increase of 18 characters. Not only that, but the quality of increase was much better.

We got completely unique characters like Olimar who are far too strange to have ever made it in Melee or 64 were most characters were largely derivative. And yes, I actually predicted 35-40 characters, and we got 35 character icons and 39 characters with different movesets. So no, I'm not kidding anyone, I'm just not ignorant of the Smash franchise like you are.

naznatips,

I have to disagree with you on one point. Mewtwo was not worthless. That character had a unique moveset. And could have replaced wolf, who is a refined fox clone. That's my disappointment. If they would have given Woft his own Smash or a more unique moveset I would not be disappointed. I'm lying. I wanted Krystal to be in the game.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

While Midna may have been too recent to be put in the game, both Midna and Krystal are very popular characters. I don't think any injustice has been done in that they weren't included but to be honest we were all expecting a huge roster, but most of us have accepted without problem the current one.

The only people who were anticipating Wolf being in the game are the same people who were expecting GENO from Super Mario RPG and Ridley from Metroid being in as well. Wolf only ever surfaced as an anticipated choice in all the outlandish fantasy rosters litering the web.

In all fairness, had Olimar never made the cut and had people as a result complained he wasn't included, Nazna would probably try and tell us we didn't know what Smash really was to expect someone like him in the first place and he could never work for the game. Only now after he's confirmed can you say with any confidence that a character like him made sense.

The Bottom line is, we don't know whether or not a character could be in Smash until it happens, there is no sound measure of prediction, part of Smash's appeal is the seeming random (to us) methodology used to pick characters appropriate for the games. While some predictions are just crazy, most predictions for characters make just as much sense as any character that is included.

While that's true...but according to a recent interview from IGN. Sakurai has stated that no 3rd party company expressed interest for Brawl or so he thinks.

Damn it, Inafune. We could of have Mega Man in Brawl if you were to contact Sakurai instead of waiting! *shakes fist*

I think 39 characters is perfect, Do you want a roster of 50 characters and only uses three maximo?

I wanted a roster of 50 characters where I can trust the judgement of the development team to decide prudently on. Obviously this couldn't happen, but at the time none of the fans had anyway of knowing this.

I fall for Brawl.
