so the next console could be a success or a fail.

Like every console ever

All sega console sold poorly and that's why sega stop making console

If it's possible to Sony to make a new successfull i don't see why sony should not try to make another handheld,Nintendo didn't stop to make console just because gamecube was a big fail.

GameCube was successful enough, Vita isn't.

You called a console that sold 20 millions an success?

Both gamecube and vita are not successfull.

It made them money, so it was a success.

do you have proof that vita won't make money.

Well...

1. GameCube's tracking ahead

2. GameCube sold more software

Even if Vita makes money, won't be close to GameCube's profits.

So because gamecube is tracking ahead vita is not making money?

Vita has something didn't have is indies ,i think indies makes a good amount of money for Sony.

Let's forget about gamecube all Sega console sold poorly why Sega didn't stop making console just when their first console sold poorly , i don't think one fail is an good reason to stop making an new  console or handheld.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

No. The market simply can't support two dedicated gaming handhelds. Unfortunate, but true. Sony should focus on consoles and PS Now.

The DS and PSP survived together didn't they?

That was last generation and it was a completely different market then. Smartphones and tablets weren't even around back during those launches. The Vita's pitiful sales are proof of a dying market.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I think Sony will follow Nintendo and release a fusion console.

Funny from a guy whose sig says his most anticipated game of the year is MK8.

If any manufacturer's fail had for consequence giving up the market, both MS and Nintendo would have left homconsole manufacturing.

Kind of a left field idea, but I think maybe concentrate on smartphones and make a clip on bluetooth attachment for xperia phones that have the thumbsticks and buttons so you can basically turn it into a PSP.

I don't see the correlation between my sig and the topic at hand.

My impression is that the Vita is a low priority for Sony - with the mobile market gathering strength and in their financial position - I just don't see them risking another venture in handheld.

I don't think so. If PSNow is readily available and stable in 3 years or so they will offer apps on mobile devices to sell streaming to customers. No need for dedicated hardware again (and no more proprietary memory solutions, thanks god).

I'd like a hardware refresh but it probably would alienate the small and passionate fan base of the Vita.
The new handheld would probably get even less sales and I don't think it's worth it.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Right now Vita is doing good enough in Japan. The problem is the rest of the world. Still, I see Vita selling well when Playstation Now arrives and there are more games. Vita is a great piece of hardware that lacks great must-buy games. I still have hope!

Well the market has never really been tested for this seeing as the Vita has never really been competetive, game or price wise.
