PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

when 3ds was selling like 20k/week after launch, everyone was talking about epic bomba. when vita is selling like 17-20K in Japan (and this after price cut and with psv 2000 and vita tv) people say about "not that bad". oh lol. double standards...

Yes but not in a conventional way, it will be a fairly cheap dumb terminal, enough power to run a few essential local apps, but will really just be a PS Now device.

1. GameCube's tracking ahead

2. GameCube sold more software

 

Even if Vita makes money, won't be close to GameCube's profits.

did it? Fact is that Nintendo did make profits during the GC era, but during that time they had an 80million+ selling handheld and the (somewhat slow) start of a 150 million+ selling handheld. Afaik Nintendo never broke down which part of their company made those profits, so I think it's reasonable to assume that their home console branch just didn't lose enough money to eat up their handheld profits.
