Forums - Nintendo - Should Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze Be Ported to 3DS for a Summer/Fall 2015 Release?

I doubt that the 3DS could handle the game.

The gap in power between Wii U and 3DS is enormous, the game will be a shell of its former self and will be costly with all of the downgrades and modifications it will need. It's not gonna happen.

I serverely hope that's sarcasm.

No, it should not, for 3 reasons...

1. The technical capabilities between Wii and 3DS are way closer than Wii U and 3DS so the compromise will be bigger, specially in the areas that using the extra definition to show the action from farther
2. The Wii U needs all the exclusive content that it can get, moving the exclusives and give the gamers other option than buying the struggling console is counter productive
3. 2015 will be too soon anyway, it took 3 years for DKCR to be sold on 3DS, so maybe by 2017 when the new Nintedo Portable console is available or the Wii U does not need the game anymore.

Oh god.

1. The technical difference doesn't matter because the dalue of Tropical Freeze is its gameplay, not it's spectacle. No one playing the 3DS version will miss HD or fur phisics. Everything can be done with no detrimental visual sacrifice, just like with DKCR: 3D.

2. The Wii U doesn't need exclusives like Tropical Freeze. It needs exclusives like Mario Kart, Smash, 3D Zelda, 3D Metroid, and 3D Donkey Kong. Games that people actually buy new home consoles for.

3. 2015 isn't soon enough. Make it come in 2014. Lord knows the 3DS needs it.

No! WiiU need exclusives!

Exclusives force people to buy a console/handheld to play that game.

If DKTF comes to 3DS people will not need to buy a WiiU because 3DS have a better library of games.3DS will canibalize WiiU.

It's the Vita's problem!

Sony and third parties released a lot of games for PSvita/PS3 but most people already have a PS3.So why buy a Vita? and people that don't have a PS3 will choose the PS3 instead VITA because PS3 have a better and bigger Library of games.

ummmm.... wat? How is that unoriginal? Thats called smart, it be a downgrade but people who migt of missed the game might pick it up for 3ds. Also its a port so how is it unoriginal? Seems as though you forgot DK returns 3D. Difference is TF wont sell 6mil like Returns so its better if its on 3ds as well imo.

No. I refuse to help you in your quest to make Nintendo unoriginal.

I refuse, you see!

Are you encouraging Nintendo to milk even more their own franchises?

They could port it to PC as well, they could earn a lot of money doing so!

You want to give people even less reasons to buy a WiiU?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

No. The fur won't look as good on the 3DS and the fur is what matters the most.

It would be 3D fur, though. And it would save the 3DS battery, 'cos the bottom screen would be switched off.
