Forums - Microsoft - Titanfall is Good Homies

I am not a fan of first person shooters and I enjoyed the beta for sure.

Gameplay is very easy to learn and very smooth. Smoother than any Call of Duty I think. The map gets progressivly more intense as more people get titans. Weapons are good.

Does not take too long to kill people like Halo. Weapons do not kill people as quick as Call of Duty. There are no dominant weapons like Call of Duty/Gears. Everyone can get kills with any weapon they want.

Titans vs. on the ground players is very balanced. When people get Titans it changes the gameplay and you have to adjust.

As far as the graphics go everything in the game is more clear than any Call of Duty game. The textures and meh but I love the lighting because it creates a very clear enviornment. Could the graphics be better? Yes. But that does not really matter to make a game successful (look at Call of Duty)

I might pick this game up even though I am not a multiplayer fan usually. I feel like the gameplay is well put together and very balanced, somehting that is rare these days.

I would rate the beta an 8/10 for what it is. I bet the final game will be a lot better. Will this game be the next Call of Duty? Probably not, but I would say this has potential of selling 4-5 million on the Xbox One in its lifetime based on the quality and casual appeal alone (who knows? I'm not a multiplayer gamer). This franchise is here to stay and never go away I think.

Can you elaborate on the bolded?  I really really dislike Modern Warfare games because I felt like I died in 1 hit, while Black Ops Games I felt like I lived longer.  Is it more along the lines of BO?  If so, awesome.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

You get a bit of time to live, but the death thing isn't really an issue. You don't die very much since half the map is grunts. I typically die 3-5 times per match, whereas in CoD I always died about 15+ times

From the videos I watched it seems as if its a lot less competitive and twitch due to the fact that everybody is doing different things (half the players in titans fighting each other, a few on foot trying to kill titans, a few on foot killing bots and that leaves only a few people for on foot pvp combat). If I had an XBO I would probably enjoy it as I don't really like twitch shooters...

You're absolutely right, it's not twitch. I've been playing on PC with a 360 controller and while in CoD or TF I would get slaughtered, I'm doing just fine in this

Killing bots fun? ehh I suppose so I do rather enjoy dynasty warriors. It is a neat psychological trick to utilize bots in what looks like it should be a competitive mp game to make gamers feel like they are actually doing good. Tired of getting stomped and pwned like a noob? Well kill bots to boost your gaming ego!

I will permaban myself if the game releases in 2014.

They did something similar in NFS: Rivals where you couldn't always tell if you were playing against a Bot or Player, it was nice for a little while.

Other than the weak visuals (it's a 10 year old engine and it shows), Titanfall does appear to be a pretty solid game, curious to see how the campaign turns out.

Well it better be, I heard that its going to put the final nail in the coffin for the PS4 in the US. :D

You know the campaign is just a string of multiplayer games with a story attache

Sounds a lot like brink which was an epic fail for campaign... with stupid AI of no use at all... However, the MP portion looks like it is putting some real use of the MS servers to prevent the gameplay from being bogged down with AI computations, which was one of the main issues with brink. The second was everyone only played the one game mode with bots instead of without...
