To people outraged at the sentencing and treatment of Breivik, I suggest getting a better grasp on how he is punished, and why he is still subjected to the same protection and has the same rights as any other inmate in Norway.

He should be lucky to get anything to be honest. He has just fucked his own life away and must live with it forever. The death penalty is an easy solution for him and us but it's not a great solution. Revenge makes us no better than him. Also, the guy clearly has some complex mental issues to do what he did.

I'm glad most of Europe don't do death penalty anymore. 

But just let him say whatever, he can't do shit in prison.

Actually, that's not exactly how the norwegian prison system work. If you get a serious speeding ticket you will go to prison for a short time - that prison you're going to will be hellish, and its very much like the US prison system. It's designed to discourage future crimes. This prison is of very low standard, something you dont wanna go back to.

However. If you murder someone in cold blood, you go to prison for a much longer period of time. The prison you're going to then is designed first and foremost for shielding the public from harm, and isn't meant to discourage the perpetrator to commit further crimes in the same way as the type of prison i mentioned earlier. This prison will be of a much higher standard. This is the kind of prison Breivik is spending his time in, and that 21 year sentence will be renewed indefinitely. He's never getting out.
