button mashing? ... you clearly have not played or know nothing about Xenoblade. If you see the footage again, you can see som icons at the bottom of the screen, those are the skills/abilities that can be use just once and enters cooldown, also the amount of skills that you can assign is limited so you have to choose verywell waht skills to use dependeing on what type of monsters you are fighting. I just wanted to clarify that is not a mindless button mashing.

If you've played Xenoblade, you'd know it's certainly not mindless button mashing.

I haven't so that might be it, I stand by what I said though, that trailer/gameplay video was in my opinion not very good.

Give Xenoblade a shot.  Considerd by many to be one of the best RPG's of the generation.   There is a good reason a used copy was selling for over $200 for almost 2 years.

I might give it a shot. My roomate has a Wii anyway.

I love the number of people that keep calling the "X" gameplay footage a TRAILER.

Iwata doesn't speak the best english, but pretty sure I clearly heard him say this is purely a gameplay scene or something to that extent. And I would also like to think that people on this site have an IQ high enough to tell that the 2 minutes of footage was clearly not a freaking TRAILER.

It looks great but one thing is bothering me. There's a lack of response from the monster when soaking bullets or attacks. It's like they just register but the monster doesn't acknowledge it.

Hopefully that just hasn't been implemented yet because that would utterly drive me crazy.

Amazed at how many people are excited for this game and have not played xenoblade or other older games.

Ok thats good it was my only concern with the game at this point.  I wouldn't have been able to play it otherwise as I don't know any other Wii U owners
