Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze has scored a respectable 35/40.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze hits the Wii U in Japan on February 13th. North America and Europe get the game on February 21st.

What do you guys think? Can we expect an overall Metascore of 85% or higher for this game? that would be sweet

The time that Famitsu's reviews were reliable and meant anything to anyone are long gone.Not to say that this game won't be great.I have preordered it and can't wait to play it.85+ is a given I believe.

that's a good review. I was thinking of putting the purchase off, but I'm probably going to make it a day one. Especially at $49.99.

Famitsu....................reliable?! They gave Resident Evil 6  a 39/40 for fuck's sake! How can anyone say those guys  are reliabe? That's simply beyond me.

EDIT: They also gave Metroid Prime 3 a 31/40 while they gave the 360 version of Sonic 06 a 30/40.  More proof of how credible they are.

You are right, Famitsu have surely proven to be unreliable for their reviews.
But in that sense, do you think that Tropical Freeze is most likely to score an overall meta rating of 85%+ or is that too optimistic?

I think Tropical Freeze has some chances to score 87-90. It improves over Returns in terms of control, music and mechanics so I would be actually surprised if it ends up with something lower than 85!

Famitsu isn't reliable, and 35 is actually a good number. They still aren't reliable.

I think more times than not they can at least tell you when a game is good or not, but in terms of exact scoring, they're quite frankly crap.
