I get the feeling honestly Ubi Soft really doesn't want to make a Wii U version, but since they already commited to it, they don't want to look bad to Nintendo because they sell a good number of Just Dance games on the platform (at least the original Wii anyway).

I don't think they really give two craps about getting an extra 30,000 in sales from a Wii U version though. That's the last thing on their mind.

I love when people do zero research.

Wii U userbase is currently about 5.5m.

Here are the 10 games Ubisoft has released.

ZombiU has sold to over 10% of the userbase. That is excellent.

The next four titles have sold to about 5%... also very good.

The rest are from games taht overall are not very big sellers anywhere beyond AC4:BF... but that lost sales on all consoles compared to its previous iteration. (12m to 7m) Largely because most consider it a declining title... its dying off.

WD had a lot of hype. Should sell well across all consoles and will likely be in the ZombiU range of 8-10% sell through on WiiU. Definitely well above the 30k that you think games sell at for some reason.... even if the lowest two Ubi games actually sold more than that so far.

Didn't you just say 5 posts ago that ''% is pointless. You can only consider the actual cost to port and what that port brought in.'' what made you change your stance? is it because those % fit better your point? And probably none of the games you listed made money for Ubisoft on the wii U

@underlined You could't be more wrong... *facepalm*

If you were right then why do we see Assassin Creed 4: Black Flag and Just Dance 2014 on Wii U?

Assassin Creed and Just Dance are not new ips, they are established and sales from other consoles can easily mask those of the underperforming Wii U version.

Lol you do know compagnies like Ubisoft can absorb the lost of few iteration right? But if they keep tranding in the red don't be surprised if you don't see them on the wii U in the future and also how come last gen when a high profile game like ass creed or just dance (the right for those tracks ain't cheap) were doing sub 500k it was pretty much confirmed as a financial flop yet this gen with the more powerfull wii U people think a game selling 250k or less is bringing money to it's publisher.  Haze must have been real huge success

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

They will cancel it, just not now, they don't need the bad press and backslash that comes from that type of annoucement.

i must agree that this game has somehow vanished from the collective mind

In general it doesn´t make much sense to release a game after the marketing campaign has ended, the game will sell even less this way.

Which is probably one of the reasons why Ubisoft is delaying the Wii U version, to get the other version out by June. With how much the hype for this game has died down, I can only imagine that it would get destroyed in sales, if it tried to compete during the holidays against Destiny, Cod, AC, Halo (remake or 5), The Order, whatever EA is going to put on the table during the holidays besides their sports games and anything else that comes out in these months.

Crazy that the PS3 and 360 versions are coming earlier

Why?

Ubisoft does not care about Watch_Dogs Wii U. They where right to focus resources and get it out earlier on the platforms that will actually get good sales first. As far as I'm concerned it may have been cancelled behind the scenes but they decided to just delay and release it anyway for formalities sake as one last litmus test to prove (not test) their existing conclusion.

We are quickly running out of space to put anymore nails on this coffin. Wii U == Wii in terms of third party support. This time Nintendo cant keep up with demand in regards to first party titles and the Wii U is selling so poorly there's little interest for unique exclusives unless explicitly paid for by the big N.

Who's fault? Nintendo for screwing up the Wii Us first year on the market so badly that there's practically no light at the end of the tunnel. Kart is the last glimmer of hope, smash to a smaller degree for the Wii U itself as a platform.

As far as 3rd parties are concerned its GAME OVER unless their games somehow manage to start selling at least 4x the amount they currently do (which wont happen). All the support it'll get from now shall be limited to select cross gen ports. Once the 360 and PS3 die you'd better be able to live with Nintendo and Indies and not much else.

The Wii U will have a respectable library when all is said and done. I have no problem with DreamCast 2.0 sales if it gets 1st party and exclusive games of that caliber over the course of its life (and it will). Though anyone hoping for parity with the other 8th gen systems with regards to AAA multiplats needs a reality check. Support it for what it is, and not what its not and your life will be so much easier.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Reminds me of psp, wii, ps2 versions of games. Often they would come out after the major releases and were poor compared to the versions on major formats. This looks much the same. If the Developer struggled to get good performance out of the wii u for assassins creed 3 and 4 its very unlikely Watchdogs is going to perform well on wii u. The reality is it will be a very weak version.

Surely the time has passed where people can keep pretending the wii u is powerful. Clearly its struggling against ps3 and 360 in performance terms. I keep reading how wii u is difficult to develop for when there is absolutely no evidence of that at all, in fact the reverse seems to be true. What we are seeing for major games is pretty much the same level of performance on wii u.

My bet is that they took resources off the Wii U version to get the PS360 versions up to scratch, do you remember those godawful leaked screen shots?? A dev has been on record saying the Wii U version looks and runs better than the PS360 versions, and it was actually developed next to its next gen counterparts. Surely it would have been developed with the PS360 versions if it was going to be on par or weaker.
