I guess it's a small step forward in the marketting department. I haven't been to McDonalds in ages though, not sure how popular the happy meals are in UK and other parts of Europe.

They already did that here in the Netherlands last year. The figurines were pretty high quality, too.

Same : ( I never used one or felt the need to since I owned one but that was a pretty cool marketing idea. Too bad they never did that with the Wii (at least in my area), but that was selling already well for its first 3 or 4 years.
Back on topic, it would be interesting if the happy meal toys were NFC toys.
You know, Nintendo was everywhere when I was kid. Their IP was plastered over everything. I bet they got to thinking, "hey, we're Nintendo, damn it, we don't need to do that anymore." It doesn't really work like that, though. They need to peel off those notes if they want to stay in the public consciousness. Stuff like this is a smart move. Kids are like children; you have to hold things right in front of their eyes to get their attention.

Oh oh, I want one of these!

I would totally start eating again at McDonalds if they would have awesome machines like those! Imagine the possibilities!

These are usually good promotions. I think it'd be interesting if Nintendo also included a coupon for the Wii U. Like, $5-$10 good for the rest of the year.

Good promotion, should at least convince more kids to pick up a WiiU. Though I still think Nintendo needs to start broadening their horizons a bit when it comes to marketing.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
