Are they by chance the same people that constantly reminded PS3 owners about the differences for well over5 years? The only difference is the media thought it was a relevent discussion then and worthy of lowering review scores for PS3 games. |
Probably. And the PS4 guys doing it now are probably the same people who were crying and complaining about it for well over 5 Years.
Its a vicious circle. Both sides are as bad as eachother. In reality they should all rise above it and enjoy the games rather than mocking someone elses potential purchase in a really pathetic way.

I wasn't here for most of last gen so I can't speak for what happened during all of it, but I joined in mid 2012 and haven't seen anything regarding multiplats like we see regarding next gen games. It's nice to read, most of the threads make for a good laugh. But it becomes a little sad too. People who do it always talk about how "oh man the 360 guys started it!!" and "oh well there are still some people who think xbone is more powerful!". Who are these people? For everyone saying this happened last gen with 360vPS3, where? I am yet to see a single name, or a single thread linked.
The Xbone community here is not big, and wasn't even that big in 2012. I think it's safe to say a vast majority of us understand the PS4 is more powerful, and we don't care. Just as I am sure many PS4 fans didn't care that the 360 got better looking multiplat games than the PS3 (I myself am both a PS and Xbox fan and play(ed) many inferior 3rd party games on PS3 simply because I didn't care about small differences), or that the PS2 and PS1 both had much more powerful competitors on the market. I also think it's safe to say it would be extremely hard to find people currently here and in the Xbox community who engaged in making threads like the ones we see here every day. I know I just checked out my own thread history wondering if I'd done wrong and nope, clean as a whistle.
So OP, if it's not a big deal for people to criticize Xbone exclusives like Ryse or DR3 for resolution/frame rate, why is it a big deal for The Order? At least there hasn't (to my knowledge) been 5 threads about it. Could you imagine the response if Titanfall was revealed to be 900p and 30 fps? Please. So PS4 fans are perfectly ok with 900p and 30 frames per second. It's great to have that on record.
The argument is more about 1080P vs 720P, 720P seems outdated since TV's with that resolution came out a long time ago and most sold now are 1080P standard. It makes 720P seem like a 10 years ago thing. That's why it's good MS didn't name the new xbox XBOX 720 because it would be a lifelong joke (XBOX 720P).
Also, for me, it's not so much what the actual resolution is, but what the max potential could be. For example, on multiplats, it would bother me to have a lower resolution or frame rate than on the other system. It's one thing if the developer CHOOSES a specific frame rate/resolution to make a game a certain way, it's another thing to be FORCED to have a lower frame rate/resolution because of hardware limitations, especially when the hardware is more expensive to buy.

Hey your people started this whole thing. I personaly see no issue with this and arguing about frames per second is extremely petty. |

The reason it was brought up before was not because 30 FPS was terrible but because when the same game was on both platforms one was 30, the other 60 and yes 60 is better, it is pretty simple to understand, so why did people latch unto 30 FPS? This is an exclusive, it would probably be 720P on x1, but that is irrelevant, it is not on x1. There is no comparison to make here. The onyl time it has really been brought up before was in multi-plats when it is on both systems.

Some people fail to relize or choose to ignore to suit an agenda that this game and anygame for that matter can run at 1080P 60 FPS on any system. However there will be grafical sacrifices. This development team decided to ramp up the graphical fidelity at the cost of FPS. If 30 FPS is a big deal to "them" then have "them" comapre tomb raiders 30fps game on xbox1 to The Order they will see the benifit of having a stronger system run a game at 30 FPS.
| Carl2291 said: Its simply to laugh at the smug, irritating people that constantly need to remind us that the PS4 is a more powerful machine than the Xbox One and that they are for some reason better because the games they play dont really run at 30fps anymore. Yet this game is running at 30fps. Its simply a way for the Xbox crowd to get back at the PS crowd. Dont read too much into it, because were gonna be seeing it throughout the entire generation when X game is running at sub-60fps on PS4. Essentially, the PS4 fanboys were doing some good old "concern trolling", and the Xbox One fanboys are now mocking the PS4 bunch. |
I think there are 2 kinds of people who keep bringing it up.
1. Playstation fanboys who just enjoy talking shit about the competitors platform
2. People like me who are shocked to see a 50% performance gap from a console that is $99 more expensive.
It doesn't have anything to with 30FPS being totally awful, it has to do with the difference in horsepower when both games run the same game. With a exclusive like the Order 1886 it's something completely different. They are trying to raise the bar when it comes to visual fidelity and they sacrificed 60fps to do so. Now if it turns out looking like a turd then the Xbox fanboys will have a field day. But if it really looks as good as people say, then they also need to keep in mind that it would run at 15fps on Xone under the same settings or explode and set your house on fire.

Exactly. Well I answered his question, but he changed the topic at hand. He asked why some are picking on the Order, and I gave him the reason (same was done to X1 exclusives).
Somehow it became a comparison again. Gotta love it. Not going to bother with him anymore.

it's not like the game is on both consoles, so we don't know how it would run on xbone. The 30 fps was more of a design choice, than a sacrifice.
