How do you know there are alot more exclusives coming? I hope you are right as i have a Wii U and want more games and game options for it (not into platformers too much so choice has been limited)
W have MK8, Smash Bros, DKTF- after that who knows what, if and or when the next exclusives will arrive
Myamoto said they felt like they provided ample 1st party software so far for the
Wii-U. That tells me we won t be seeing to many games on the Wi U in the future-

Stuff like this is concerning me about getting a Wii U (I am just waiting for my tax refund) http://kotaku.com/nintendo-wants-their-platforms-to-be-more-like-ios-1516045355
Is Nintendo just talking about their next consoles way to early or are they getting their replacements ready? |
Your concens are unfounded. Nintendo has not, in point of fact, talked about the succesor to Wii U. People keep getting badly translated news twisted, taking the instances where Iwata was talking about "a new platform", to mean Our Next Console. When in fact, in that same investor's meeting, he repeatedly said they are dedicated to Wii U. The "platform" he spoke of, was in a BUSINESS sense, meaning they are going to change the way they do business, in part by having a unified eShop, and in part by using mobile phones to help advertise their products, as well as what he mentioned about licensing their characters out more to non-gaming products.
The Wii U is safe, for at least the next 2-3 years I would imagine. AT LEAST. You can't just snap your fingers and create a new console overnight, 3DS is a success and still selling great, and they have too much invested in Wii U to just drop it, cancel all the games in development for it, and move on to the next system they "HOPE" will be a winner. That isn't realistic, nor how smart companies do business, ever. That is why Sega bombed big time after Genesis. Because they lost consumer confidence, releasing Saturn too soon, and then abandoning it, then releasing Dreamcast too soon, and then abandoning it. They were not smart about how they handled all of that. They announced the DC WAY too early, and it killed gamer enthusiasm for the Saturn, even though the Saturn was a good console. They also failed to put some of their biggest franchises, most notably Sonic, a REAL Sonic game (not that 3D Blast shit), to support the system.
Nintendo isn't stupid. They know that if they just drop the Wii U now and try to rush their next home console to the market "In 2015" like some morons are sugggesting, that it would be a trainwreck all around. If Nintendo doesn't have confidence in themselves, no one else is going to have confidence in them either. Their stock would plummet and not recover, their fans and gamers would lose heart/enthusiasm, etc.
So don't worry. It's not going to happen. Wii U has a few good years left in it, and you should absolutely buy one, now is a perfect time in fact, as it already has a good library of games, and there are many more great retail and eShop titles on the way this year.
so the poor sales, lack of 3rd party support hasn't scared you off but Nintendo talking about how they plan to attack the future to improve their company status is?

Made a thread about it and people called me paranoid. -.-

If I expected the "Wii U 2" to launch in 2015/2016 I would not be getting a Wii U. That was the point of the thread. |
I think we'll see a sucessor in 2018 or 2019 honestly. Nintendo is not going to pull the plug on the Wii U in 2015/2016. MAYBE 2017 if the system hasn't recovered but I highly doubt it.

Donkey kong, Mario game, wonderful 101
doesnt interest me, plus the 2 a year games per say is a cause for alarm

Probably, I just recently came from my GameStop and the Wii and Wii U section was so small, it was almost non exsitince. There been time when I still think about selling my Wii U because I rarely play it anymore, though I still have it, the trade in value is slowly declineding. I ask the the gamestop and about the trade in value and he told me 100 bucks.
It really depend on you.

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen. By: Suke |
Anyone worried about a new Nintendo console before 2017 is paranoid. 2018 sounds a lot more reasonable to me. Maybe even later. Go buy a damn Wii U already.
I can't tell you what to think or feel about it, but it doesn't scare me.
