Forums - Sony Discussion - 2.3GB Update for AC4 (PS4)

Tagged games:

That is stupid. Should be normal thinking to not have to reinstall parts of updates. People have a word for that and its called redundant. I aint noticed because I have high speed internet with my cosole on standby. Also i aint played DC on my PS4. I never knew you could get it for the PS4.

Is everything ok at Soy in general? About 4 times I have been denied access to the online store on my PS4.
4 times exactly. Yes i did count.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

largest GameCube game

That explains why my PS4 was on this morning

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

largest GameCube game < Super Mario 3D World < 3 PSX games < 15 hours of music < patch

The psx game bit isn't very accurate they ranged from a few Mb to over 600

Pffft...

That seems tiny compared to the patches I've seen on X1.

youmust be referring to the 13gb for d3 right?

Well, to be fair it was more of a dlc than a patch...

The thing I don't get about modern patches is how they can be several gigabytes when they add nothing new to the game (or perhaps add a simple setting). If you don't add new textures, sounds, etc. how can a patch be so big?

@ people worried with HDD space... most of the patch data will overwrite existing data... so game size in HDD will increase in a smaller rate than patch size... also this thread is about how the patch has previous patch versions in it, causing the patch to grow bigger with data you already have. As ethomaz already stated, there is hope that Sony will fix this "method" in the up coming months.

Given it does all the updates overnight, I haven't been bothered by the patching size

The increased frequency of double attacks is quite exciting though

This patch will overwrite all patches for this game in the system... that's the biggest issue right now because the next patch 1.05 will have 2.3GB plus what new/changed was added in the patch.

They needs to fix this system to the player just receive the changed part like:

No patch = Receive the full patch with 2.3GB
Patch 1.02 = Receive just the changes after the patches 1.03 and 1.04
Patch 1.03 = Receive just the changed in the patch 1.04

So the size will be always smaller unless you need the full patch again.
