How exactly did they beat Nintendo last gen?  They didn't beat them in sales and Nintendo pumped out a shitload of 1st party games on the Wii.  If you want I can list them all but it isn't really needed.  Also, Warhawk/Starhawk isn't a big franchise.  I see you failed to mention Twisted Metal.  Tis a shame the series fell apart like it did.  Mario Kart Wii almost beats all those games combined in sales.

Average game quality for Nintendo is in my opinion the highest.

It is a lack of new franchise and poor console design that are holding Nintendo back.

its all subjective really, Sony produced a good amount of quality games that rivaled Nintendo last generation.

Just depends on preference, I would never touch a Nintendo game because I hate the style, look, and way they play. Your either jump over something or press the same monotonous button 20 times. I could also turn around and say the same thing about Sony games.

Sales do not equal quality. If you guys want to argue it, then go ahead. You'll be stating that Xenoblade is not the best RPG last gen, but rather the 26th best RPG last gen. We all know how Nintendo fans like to praise Xenoblade.

Nintendo does make a lot of great games, but there are many games that don't deserve the praise they get. All our opinions will differ, but did those Nintendo fans play the games, and how much bias would there be because they've grew up with Nintendo games and stuck exclusively to Nintendo?

At least JL's predictions were based on something objective. This thread is 100% opinion and can in no way be associated with "truth." But even if it could, using the popularity of the thread as an argument for it being truthful is ridiculous.

I'm a Nintendo fan and I have a Megadrive, a PS1, and  PS2, an Xbox, and a 360.

. A prediction of insane sales numbers is no more objective than a statement which is backed up by metacritic and a large part of the gaming community. Clearly the thread is designed to be antagonistic, and so the fact that it's getting bites means that people see truth in it. Without getting too philosophical about truth and objectivity, I stand by my statement.

If you're talking of allocating money, a lot more people allocated 500€ for Ghosts on a new console than 350€ for a U and 3D World. You can't reduce the problem on each platform.
