Well according to Patcher's prediction record, this idea will be smart smart smart.
If the PSP Go is anything to go by, theres one thing you shouldn't do as a games console manufacturer. Never go full retard digital.
The sooner companies realise this, the better.
Well we all thought a DRM console would be pretty dumb as well no one even thought it could happen, can anyone find the thread from january when the Xbone was still called "Durango"
And we saw what happend in may that same year. So..... never say never.

Most computers are fully digital. All phones are digital.
What makes you think pspgo sets the standard? PSPGo was an extremely flawed console from the get-go. I'm not sure it had a lot to do with being digital...it was just not a great product.

I'm talking strictly about dedicated gaming consoles. Home cosoles, portables the OUYA's etc.
Smart devices are not comparable. To add, PSP failed in that consumers are not yet ready for such a device. Hell, if you consider the amount of talk regarding the Xbox One DRM (one step closer to being all digital) it should be enough to indicator not to go there. Unless your company is named after a particular fruit, or something.

I know what you're saying but PCs went from media to digital. Why couldn't a console? I believe a console could sell well without a disc-drive. Maybe not 1:1, but could push more than its fair share.
So... it's one of the smartest ideas ever?

Innovation? You mean over reaching, DRM, anti consumer rights BULLSHIT? There is nothing innovative about a digital only console. Steam has already done it. The only thing that will come out of a console (and this goes for Nintendo and Sony as well) that is only digital, is the loss of options and rights for the consumer. Your life as a console gamer will NOT be better. It just won't.

My biggest concern is it would sell units, and set a precedent that a digital platform could be profitable for the other companies. I don't care what anyone says, the world isn't ready for completely digital distribution, and always having the option of digital or physic is by FAR the better choice.
