Why would they bother making another crackdown? It's such a small series you'd think the resources would be put to better use making a new IP.

Why does Sony keep making Infamous? Rhetorical question.

Looks like Crackdown is MS's go-to sandbox IP. Better to polish that up since it has history.

This is a really stupid and petty argument you know?? Crackdown 2 did amazing for only 8 months dev time.

I wasn't aware people bought games based on development time. No wonder FF13 sold so well.

The fact remains that even if the sequel comes out in a years time it will be nearly 5 years after a game that sold 1 million copies. There efforts would be put to better use making a new IP.

So you wanna tell me that both IP's are on the decline? Ok so Infamous sold more, doesn't mean there isn't a base to improve upon with Crackdown.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

8 months dev time = not a great game. 1.5m - 2m is fine for a game if it's budgeted around that. You sound like EA.

Haven't played the first one, but Crackdown 2 was awful. One of the most bare-bones sandbox games I've ever played. There was nothing to do but run around and collect orbs. The campaign was so repetitive that I had to force myself through it. I couldn't care less about a third one.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

The first game had good reviews and came with the Halo 3 beta and still only pulled off 1.7 million copies. My point is the series is not worth building upon, it's dead as a door nail, so why not make something new?

Because if 3 sells 1.7m it's certainly not dead as a doornail, that's why. It's a lot to just expect a new Ip to do 2m+

I thought the first Crackdown was good. Never played the second. I kinda figured Microsoft would do something with this franchise.

Fun fact, most games don't sell 1.7 million units. Many games struggle to even a sell a million units. I could point at several IPs that would likely be continued if they could achieve those numbers.

MS recently gave away Crackdown "free" for Gold members. So that tells me that's a game MS thinks highly of.
