I wouldn't play this even if it was free. The response to the beta has been absolutely awful.

Not what I am hearing now..............

Impressions from NeoGaf have been terrible.

If your source is neogaf it's no wonder, that whole site is a breeding ground of negativity. Gameplay-wise it's a hyprid of traditional Elder Scrolls gameplay with your typical Fantasy MMO, but it seems to be closer to Elder Scrolls now. Right/left mouse buttons/triggers control your right and your left hand, holding gives you a charged weapon attack. You have class abilities and a hotbar, but it's only 5 slots, plus one item slot (for potions mostly) and 1 ultimate ability. 3 factions each with a unique storyline, about 200 hours each at release, for 600 hours total. The game world is about 3x the size of Oblivion currently, and more zones will be added after release. Fully voiced, top notch voice talent if the recent voice actor video they released was any indication.

BTW, the budget was not $200 million, a dev responded to that rumor and said the dev team leadership would have been fired for incompetancy already if they'd blow that much money on the game. Probably closer to $100 million.

I just hope it doesn't end up as another WoW clone when it comes out. I'll reserve judgement until I see reviews but I would not pay $15 a month for any game. I'm expecting a F2P version to come out just like TOR.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

If you're paying $60 for Live then you're doing it wrong. It goes on sale like every 2 months for $35-40. Which is why I'm set up until 9/2016.

I much prefer subscription than F2p for MMO's, I despise the disaster that is f2p, it takes the developers focus away from developing content to keep people engaged and makes them focus too much on how to make people buy stuff. However that doesn't mean I think ESO will be a success, recent beta reports are positive so we shall see, I hope it does work out as I would happily pay a subscription if it was good.

are you serious? i mean, i really dislike the xbox brand, but you are pushing it.

Would rather have a free to play with cash shop. This is a pass.

Also, why is Bethesda charging monthly for Xbone and at the same price even? Don't devs get free cloud from M$?

Seeing as it's an MMO they will probably be using all their own servers, unless they plan on segregated the Xbox players from the PS/PC ones (which would be a horrible idea).

OT: You can't group the two together. It makes about as much sense as me saying I have to pay £600 a year for netflix since i also need to pay my internet bill. Netflix, or in this case ESO, is someone you are purchasing on-top of your other services. Just because one requires the other doesn't make them part of the same purchase.

A good reason why I keep my console systems offline. High fees will only go higher over time as a result of inflation and price gouging. Personal account information has regularly been stolen by hackers.

unless its free im not playing it even on the pc

It'll probably go F2P within a year, if the Star Wars name couldn't carry a subscription fee, Elder Scrolls probably won't either. Only a few MMO's have stayed successful with a subscription, mostly WoW and EVE.

Star Wars's failure came from a lack of content. They were far too ambitious and tried to make content of a quality that isn't remotely sustainable in an MMO.

In either console, FUCK THAT.

Since I already have a Gold Subscription (not for this game) I will be paying the same as a regular PS4 owner.
