You would think X1 would be higher though since there is still 600k of them sitting on shelves as of Dec 31st..

Actually no since it is $100 more expensive and still has a lingering negative public perception. Id say it is doing far better then initial expectations.

For me, the negative public perception is a myth, you don't sell 3.9M consoles at launch with bad public perception, that card is played out nowadays. I'll give on the 100 price disadvantage but for me the negative pr is very limited these days to internet forums and resolution gate wars. Spencer is doing way better then anyone else did in the past year to repair the negative PR. They did the right thing and shut Harrison up pretty good, got rid of Mattrick, Nelson is okay but is to phony looking. Penello will never catch a break and should just sit on the side lines and let others talk instead. If they can shut Greenburg up they'll be back in at 100% imo.

Well I did say lingering, but it seems to be most present in Europe at the moment. And going on a 80 million install base, which was dominant in NA, to have NA being the biggest sales location for MS just makes sense. Considering the core gamers are currently the sole supporters of the consoles, it is their word of mouth and what they own that dictate what their friends buy. Even if they don't comment online, they may very well still have those opinions. I certainly wouldn't call it a "myth" now. Still too soon.

3DS is beasting, even without any noteworthy new games released anywhere, at all. O_O
X1 needs to launch in all countries, badly. PS4 remains impressive, I wonder where it'll settle as a baseline once all the hype's gone down and it's launched in Japan, too; its release shedule looks bleak for the year.

PS360 dropping off, as expected. Wii sold 16k! Not bad, considering it's not getting any games and has been pretty much dead for over 2 years now.
I won't even comment on Vita/Wii U.

All in all, no surprises, at all.

That has more to do with the Xbox just not being such a big brand in continental europe and it losing pretty much any advantage it had over Playstation during the last generation.

People are still using the negative public perception card? lol. Outside hardcore minority on forums no one knows anything about any of this now.

You'd be right but for the wrong reasons. It isn't like its years since the policy changes.....it's been months. Actually youd be surprised how the general public, not gamers like you and me, still have E3 news as their current perception of Xbox 1. The Xbox home page even has a "Get the facts" page specifically designed to correct those dated polocies.

LOL at trying to say x1 is struggling in europe because of negative perception....ps3 outsold 360 depite being more expensive and late quickly in europe, now ps4 is cheaper, and launched the same time, Xbox is simply not big outside the US, has zero to do with some "Perception".

Jesus. The PS4 continues to just steamroll every other home console (the 3DS should fall once the PS4 launches in Japan). The WiiU is still doing awful, and the X1 is still selling poorly in Europe.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I don't think this is hopeful thinking but....

Where is ACIV: Black Flag for PS4 on the SW charts? Really don't think it would be lower than #75!!

x1 pricing and being a good deal less powerful is really hurting it sales.

what week is it when the PS4 had lots of consoles shipped to market? Will it be next weeks numbers?

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

360 hasn't fell off the map, the Vita and Wii U are just doing pretty well.

The Wii U and Vita sales certainly been lower in the past.

For the record, pretty well is not synonymous with great.
