Good question Jay! I would love Nintendo to buy it, just to see the internet collapse.

Nintendo.
Would solve all my problems. I would only need to buy one system.
I would like Sega to be the ones, but they could never, ever afford it. MS would be the second best alternative, since I belive they would give Sony the stability they need. Also, if MS gave them free reign, they would become a gaming juggernaut :).

Xenophobic? Had never heard of that word before, interesting.
And I can't understand how some people can be so openly rude and run to conclusions without asking what someone meant. It's too easy to judge I suppose. |
Well, I get what you are saying, but to say that only a company with a physical geographic center would make a certain kind of game is a little myopic.
But I live in the states, and her pretty much anyone can get interested in anything. As a young person, an older bother introduced me to Japanese Animae. We would watch in in Japanese with English subtitles. We have no relations to Japan from what I know, and it's pretty normal for people to chose things they like from any culture they encounter.
Take our food. Salsa from Mexico is our favorite condament. We love French cusine. And even Apple Pie, from Germany, is our adopted national desert.
Microsoft is currently working with Japanese developers. I think they would still make Japanese styled games. Sure it might be different and not as much. Disney buying playstation would be a little less open though.
There are so many different cultures and ideas in the USA, it's a pretty neat thing.

Microsoft has not bought Nokia. Why do people keep saying this? They have bought the handset part of the company only. There are much bigger companies than Nokia in Europe involved in tech but none of them are the right kind of company to enter the console market. It would more likely be a Korean or Chinese takeover. |
Probably because for most of us, those billions seem like they went for the most important part of Nokia, and the part we see most.
