No. Perfect Dark and Golden Eye's graphics were "realistic for the hardware." Ocarina of Time was a kiddie game for little kids. I played it when I was five and loved every cartoony moment of it. I loved flying on chickens. I loved beating a Super Luigi parody in a pony race. I loved Waking up a Super Mario parody with my pocket rooster. I loved getting a giant fish god to let me explore his innards by feeding him a littler fish, all to save a fish princess. Realistic? Lolol.

It wasn't realistic in concept but it was in execution. Textures were detailed instead of flat hunks of cartoonish colour. The colour pallette was dark, not the bright cartoon hues of something like Mario 64.

No, it was cartoony in everything. Just because it was a more detailed cartoon in it's environment, doesn't mean it isn't cartoony. Pokemon Stadium had more detailed textures than Ocarina of Time. Are you going to argue that that was "realistic for the hardware?" "It wasn't realistic in concept but it was in execution?" And the color pallet was not dark. It was only dark in dark places, just like in Wind Waker.

That's how Ocarina of Time would look if it were released now in HD. Realistic? Seriously? It's a kiddie cartoon game dude. Get over it.

Nintendo don't follow graphics. They follow gameplay which explains why Nintendo games are rated so highly. The best looking games out there like Killzone SF and Ryse are poor in comparison. Just shows you that graphics don't mean anything. Zelda will look as good as Nintendo needs it to look.

Here's some more relevant numbers. .23% (Wind Waker) and .07% (Twilight Princess)

That's the attach ratio of the two games one their respected platforms.

And let's not talk about Goldeneye like it's an accurate comparison. Goldeneye was successful because it gave birth to home console shooters. Try comparing it's sales to games like Halo and Call of Duty, which held Goldeneye's torch.

Because only hardcore Nintendo fans bought the GCN, hence a higher attach rate of a Nintendo game.

But Twilight Princess attracted the non-fans as well, hence its higher overall numbers.

And that's what Zelda U needs to do; attract the mainstream, not just the fanatic Nintendo supporters.

No, the Wii attracted casuals "as well." It was the "casual" kids system, remember? Try convincing anyone with eyes that the Wii attracted more "hardcore" gamers than the GCN. Please do. "Hardcore" gamers stuck to the 360 and PS3.

There is no "hence." It's fact. The fact is, there's no evidence to suggest that "gritty" Zelda is the preferred game.

Changed so I won't challege those specific portions.

GameCube might've bombed, but the idea that only hardcore Nintendo fans bought the GameCube is faulty. Nintendo franchises still had mainstream appeal. If they didn't, I don't know how any Nintendo-published GameCube games would've sold over 2 million.

Core games sold better on Wii than on GCN.

And yes, Ocarina looked realistic for the time within the bounds of fantasy, like Twilight Princess and the tech demo. Or God of War.

I would love to see THIS game on WiiU, but it was 2011 and only a demo. Do you think that the WiiU can handle better graphics than the demo ?

I think it will. I loved TP's art style the best then WW. Any of those as long as they stay away from SS's artstyle. I throwup in mouth a little anytime I see it. Wtf were they thinking?

Okay lol now you're just trolling. God of War? They made Turok 2 on the N64. If they wanted to make a realistic game "in the bounds of fantasy," they could have done it on the N64. You're reaching for straws, dude.

Aonuma has already confirmed that it won't look like this at all. He already said not to expect the tech demo, then he say he won't make this Zelda realistic, then he said he wants to surprise gamers with the new artstyle. (like what he did with Wind Waker?) He likes color. Get the barf bag ready.
