No. That news means they will work with Gears first.

Grats to MS, though I'm curious about how much they spend to acquire the IP.

It wouldn't make sense for a new Gears game to make its way on PS4 anyways since the older ones is still on 360.

One team working on Gears first.

Hopefully this means we will get an Unreal Tournament 4/2014 instead of Epic being so focused on Gears, we need some good Arena based shooters!

is this one of the "15 exclusives"?

---------------------- MOD WARNING ----------------------

Maybe I wasn't clear with what I said earlier. I'm going to list a few posts that I've seen in this thread that are detrimental to discussion. If you make a post like one of the below, or respond to one in kind, expect to be moderated.

"Remember those threads with Sony fans getting hyped over what seemed to them 100% chance that the next gears of war will be on ps4? I gotta find those and get a good laugh XD
What's even funnier is that most of these guys will probably revert to "meh, GoW isn't that good" mode."

"soooo... everyone basically said gears was dead when they thought it might end up on any platform and now its xbox only again your tunes change? how predictable"

Stay on topic and be respectful to each other, it's really not as difficult as it seems.

Anyone here read the Gears of War novels? This is really exciting. There is some fantastic backstory they can delve right into, and all sorts of unexplained origin stories.

There is also likely to be any one of half a dozen new canon directions for the story after Gears 3. Really exciting development!

Oh crap I need an Xbox One...

This is very interesting news. While I quite liked the look of the sneak peek we got of Black Tusk at E3, they obviously hadn't really gone anywhere. Rod coming back to Gears could be quite significant though, but I'm not really sure what I personally want out of the series. In the same way as Uncharted, I felt that 3 main series games was enough, but I'm still excited for another one whether or not the series really needs it

After the drop off in exclusive content that came last gen, it's good to see M$ investing in first party AAA games even if they are just Halo and Gears for now

I just have to hope this comes to PC then!

Cool! Hopefully Black Tusk will have some interesting ideas about how to expand the Gears universe and take the franchise in new directions. The original trilogy was fun, but I think we need some new locations and characters (and maybe gameplay elements) in order to keep the story interesting.

Link?

There are a lot of suggestions that BT is a two-team studio...

Edit:  It is far from definitive, but their updated Wikipedia page indicates they are working on two games as of this moment, and implies that they will be working on a new franchise to 'rival Halo.'
