Maybe not the FF everyone was expecting, but I liked the game nonetheless. A solid JRPG, and for that, yeah, I think it deserves the sales.

yep it deserves. enjoyed playing all the games for it. Much better then FFXII in my opinion
Just in terms of the gameplay/content, no. They were mediocre at best with FFXIII selling well on name alone.
This gen hasn't been the best for jRPGs though. Xenoblade Chronicles is the only one that comes to mind as a stand out jRPG although I've yet to play Ni No Kuni.
Having said all that, the trilogy really hasn't sold that well compared to previous gens, especially when you factor into the equation the two platforms the games released on. So for Final Fantasy games, they're not great. Final Fantasy has been a disaster for SE this gen (not just XIII, but also XIV needing redevelopment).
Don't know, I just played the LR demo last night, it didn't felt like a jrpg to me, but a totally western game. I really miss the old ones..
These games are terrible so no they do not deserve those sales, only reason they sold so much was because of the Final Fantasy name, if it had been a new IP it would probably have sold less than 500k

7 million suckers that bought FFXIII is more like it (me included).
No, they dont deserve it. It will greatly affect sales of future FF titles. The brand was badly damaged.
With that said, i didnt dislike the demo of LR:FFXIII. I would risk saying its the only one that isnt total poo. Nothing comparable to the Tales series and Persona series though.
Final fantasy XIII is a great game, I liked FFXIII-2 a little less but still a good game.
Let's face it, it's the J-RPG series that sold the more this generation.

IMO, yes. I liked the ff XIII series, even though the games weren't as great as past ffs of the franchise.
