It's not that they don't WANT to play games other than Mario, it's that they've been trained to think other games will be garbage. Guess who taught them that? Decades of crap third party support will do that to a userbase.
Not this again, it's nintendos jobs to make a system/ecosystem that fosters third party support..........

That garbage support is nintendos, you sont think devs would love to be able to put their game on another platform and make money? Of course they would.
Microsoft and Sony work their asses off to form mutually beneficial relationships with third-party developers and publishers. Nintendo, for the most part, works for the benefit of Nintendo.
In business, there is no one to blame for failure except yourself. Excuses mean nothing at all. Nintendo is responsible for Nintendo. They have every right to marginalize third parties on their own console--and third parties have every right to ignore Nintendo if they have better options elsewhere. That's the simple reality of it.
Honestly, I've gotten weary of the excuse making. Nintendo is responsible for the struggles of the Wii U. Sony is responsible for the struggles of the Vita. No one else. Neither one did everything in their power to aid those devices and neither one has any right to cast blame elsewhere.
Sure, I've seen signs of progression but we're talking about an industry where what you do today impacts events years from now, not weeks or months. The groundwork should have been laid while the Wii was still at the top of the chart. If Nintendo wants their next console to have third party parity then they'd better start working on that right meow.

Yo Joe, what's gonna be the 5th week to match the Wii U's 5 weeks? Kinda messed up that 1st week was taken away since it was more days of that week counted for January

Yo dude, there's a thread for that.
@TheLegendaryWolf
aren't you the " X > every 3rd party game" signature guy?
| oniyide said: its not 3rd party's responsibility to help the WIi U. its really that simple |
Indeed. Microsoft and Sony give 3rd partys real incentives to develop games on their systems. Nintendo just sits with its arms folded and "expects" them to fall in line. Combined with its low sales and the hardware gulf that is one extremely dumb strategy.

Yeah, but how do you get dem dere demografixs widout games?
