Microsoft and Sony work their asses off to form mutually beneficial relationships with third-party developers and publishers. Nintendo, for the most part, works for the benefit of Nintendo.

In business, there is no one to blame for failure except yourself. Excuses mean nothing at all. Nintendo is responsible for Nintendo. They have every right to marginalize third parties on their own console--and third parties have every right to ignore Nintendo if they have better options elsewhere. That's the simple reality of it.

Honestly, I've gotten weary of the excuse making. Nintendo is responsible for the struggles of the Wii U. Sony is responsible for the struggles of the Vita. No one else. Neither one did everything in their power to aid those devices and neither one has any right to cast blame elsewhere.

Sure, I've seen signs of progression but we're talking about an industry where what you do today impacts events years from now, not weeks or months. The groundwork should have been laid while the Wii was still at the top of the chart. If Nintendo wants their next console to have third party parity then they'd better start working on that right meow.
