It's not that they don't WANT to play games other than Mario, it's that they've been trained to think other games will be garbage.  Guess who taught them that?  Decades of crap third party support will do that to a userbase.

That garbage support is nintendos, you sont think devs would love to be able to put their game on another platform and make money? Of course they would.
