Pics or you're lying lol

The first associate said to me "this was the last one. We don't keep these out on display because they 'just grow legs and walk out on there own' if you know what I mean". Meanwhile, I look up and see this:

Where's a good Don Mattrick "no please no" picture.

For my part, I was at my local Target yesterday. There were 4 PS4 in-stock, and 21 XB1. First time I have ever seen the former in stock.
I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.
Why don't we have a thread dedicated to pics like this? That way we won't need a new thread every time someone takes a pic of a stack of consoles in a store.
Also I find it funny that in every single of these threads you always have one person claiming that in their area there's stacks of PS4s in the stores, but none of those people ever post a picture to prove it.
MS have always been notorious for stuffing the channel around Christmas time so I am not surprised there was a ton of boxes left over that didn't sell to customers..

Not really. For example, if you were told there wasn't gonna be much gasoline available after tomorrow, what would you do? You'd fill up your tank and probably a few gas cans as well. Problem, though, is the XBone is not a commodity, but rather, a luxury item. I got a PS4 because I wanted it right now, so I seized the opportunity. If there were a stack of PS4s akin to the XBone, I'd still get a PS4 because I wanted one right now. I'm not gonna wait until there's only a few left and go "well, I better go get one now" (although, technically that was the case....but I didn't wait for it to get to that point. I called as soon as I saw the thread on VGC that said BB had stock, and that store just so happened to only have 3 left at the time). If people want XBones right now, they aren't gonna wait until it looks like they won't be able to get one. They're gonna go to the store, see an XBone in stock, then buy it. |
You didn't prove you're point with this reply. So if people walk into a store and see a stack of PS4s, and no X1s, that would make them want a X1?

Microsoft can easily drop the price if they feel the ps4 is getting too far ahead. From the VGchartz figures it appears the xbox one is doing good figures in the USA. Here in Europe the situation is more severe. Microsoft really need to drop the price considerably to compete. I guess for the moment though they are waiting to see how their new games perform. There is likely an issue where more xbox one stock is in retail channels. It does seem demand for ps4 is far stronger than xbox one but then the ps4 is a technically stronger console at a lower price. All things considered Microsoft have done very well considering the price difference. I personally feel the xbox one price should be below that of the ps4 and wouldn't ever consider one at current pricing. |
Good input, but not exactly the right perspective.
If Sony dominates, we will be better off THIS GENERATION for sure. Because PS4 is more powerful, and because PS4 is cheaper, and because Sony Policies are so much better, and because more people will simply buy the much better console, the society will be better off. In that case, some of the current and future XB1 exclusives may even come to PS4, which makes people even better off.
However, next generation, Sony feeling confident and cocky, we might be worse off without competition from another company with credible threat. Also in terms of price, if MS did not want to screw you, and really did want to win, they would drop the price. They know XB1 has LESS VALUE, they know XB1 has LESS POWER, they know KINECT is JUST A GIMMICK, but they still don't slash the price because they want to exploit people's loyalty or other forms of affilliation to the ecosystem.
Whether or not XB1 is really selling well, we will see it in 1 year time, when both consoles are realeased worldwide to the general audience and the supply issues are ironed out. I am very sure that PS4 will start to sell over 2-to-1 starting from Japan, possibly 3-to-1 just much later.
Playstation 5 vs XBox Series Market Share Estimates
Regional Analysis (only MS and Sony Consoles)
Europe => XB1 : 23-24 % vs PS4 : 76-77%
N. America => XB1 : 49-52% vs PS4 : 48-51%
Global => XB1 : 32-34% vs PS4 : 66-68%
amazing never thought the ps4 would be the dominant in north america guess i was wrong
