That is the last thing Nintendo should do, if anything they shpuld raise the price, they should sell the thing with a profit.

I say offer a tablet free version. It's not needed for every game, and that's a big part of the price. Then they could bundle the tablet separately with a special game.

Personally I think cutting it to Wii's launch price should be enough to substantially lift sales, though not enough to compete with PS4 globally. It would be a reasonable compromise between lifting sales and taking heavier losses. At $250 for two years would see sales rise to supportable levels, hopefully giving 3rd parties some confidence. But losses won't be too painful. At $199 sales would be much better but I think the losses would be too great and it would be too long before they reached break even on cost.

Nintendo's mistake was only cutting by $50 last year, it should have been $100 cut then. A $150 price difference with PS4 is very hard to overlook. That's WiiU + 2 new release games + change. Whereas $100 is just the Wii U a new release game and change. And a half the price of Xb one would make Xb one look like a bloated money pit.

But, in the end no price differential is going to move the core gaming market back to Nintendo from Xb or PS. And this generation is very much more dependant on the core gaming market and far less on the casuals.

Its already selling badly. Simple economics tells us that rasing the price will see even lower sales.
