Actually no, I actually feel somewhat sorry for diehard Nintendo fans and the state of the WiiU.

As long as all 3 are successful and survive, all is fine. If not, a video game monopoly may happen and nobody wants that.

Sony and their Playstations keep winning the console gen 'wars', but loosing where it counts the most: The balance sheet of the company!

They may be popular, but they're taking heavy losses as a company.

You may want to check your facts, again.  That only happened during last gen.  PS1 and PS2 were very profitable for Sony.  With the lower cost of manufacturing for the PS4, their gaming division is going to be posting nice profits within a year or so.

I think Sony competes pretty much only with Microsoft, and not with Nintendo.

If there were no Microsoft PS3 would have sold 160 millions units, not that different from PS2, and Nintendo 100 millions (no change for them).

Sony, as a company, isn't doing well. PS4 is, but it can't cover it's other losses such as the Vita, TVs, etc, just like Nintendo can't use the 3DS profits to cover the Wii U losses.

But what matters are games no ? We dont care if sony doesnt make profit, but we care about sales, to get much more support.

So it's logic to be excited about all the support the winner will get this generation..
