They actually did, say what you want but nintedno getting got some the biggest franshises like COD, assasins creed and batman, the problem is they don't sell, just look the comparison for ps4 and x1, they sold 20x better then on wiiu.

Nintendo makes money off third party games as well as accessories.

Why go 3rd party only to limit yourself to consoles? Considering that Nintendo's audience has moved on to mobile platforms (or so I've heard) it would make most sense from a business perspective to make games for phones and tablets.

Of course, if Nintendo stayed in the portable consoles business it would only make sense to dedicate all resources to that area and completely abandon home consoles. After all, the moment Nintendo stops making home consoles the future of home consoles is no longer of their concern.

Highly unlikely. Besides Wii U, Nintendo have made profits on obscure hardware. If anything, Sony should start developing games for Nintendo handhelds because they might actually have some respectable sales for once.

Apart from CoD and Assassins Creed IV WiiU has had no high profile simultaneous multiplat release, and all of them were 360 ports. They only exist because those companies still support the PS3 and 360. The next Bioshock, Mass Effect and propbably Batman game wont even show up on Wii U. Thats like the dreamcast getting PSOne ports performing worse than the PSOne framerate wise months before the PS2s release. Unnacceptable, how is that even suppossed to compete
