Because Sony handheld games

A. Barely exist on Vita, it was abandoned pretty fast.
B. Are watered down versions of their console games.

In WiiU case, you cannot call Nintendos games watered down versions of 3DS games.  So it isn't the same argument.  If people want Sonys best games they get a PS4, not a Vita.

Arguably the same thing is happening, but in reverse, since 3DS is getting a lot of entries of Nintendo franchises in the same "style" of the Wii U versions (NSMB, Mario 3D, Mario Kart to come) they could well be aping the spotlight from the console versions, much like how Sony's console games vastly overshadow the handheld efforts.
