Nintendo just needs to go third party on consoles only

Why go 3rd party only to limit yourself to consoles? Considering that Nintendo's audience has moved on to mobile platforms (or so I've heard) it would make most sense from a business perspective to make games for phones and tablets.

Of course, if Nintendo stayed in the portable consoles business it would only make sense to dedicate all resources to that area and completely abandon home consoles. After all, the moment Nintendo stops making home consoles the future of home consoles is no longer of their concern.
