Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Am I the only one who dislikes Nintendo?

I don't understand how or why people hate any true game company. Nintendo has been making the same games and types of games for generations bring the exact same love of creation, fun, and fantasy that came with their titles: Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and countless others. The goal has never been to make a crapload of money but to bring an experience that people would enjoy and probably enrich your time spent with the medium. Of course profits dictate whether or not you can duplicate this experience again. I challenge gamers on this site in particular to read and watch the developer interviews and listen to the passion of the developers especially Miyamoto and Wii Music. Wii Music wasn't a hit but you can see what his intent was with the software.

Technology is finally catching up to the vision of Zelda and say a Mario. Where the goal and intent can be realized. I dont get brand loyalty. I dont get today's gamers at all. I don't care how many Wii U consoles are sold as long as I get a great products. I know that there are enough consoles to keep the titles I would love to play rolling in. So as long as Smash, Yoshi, and Mario Kart are released then I good. I would certainly stack the quality of: Kirby Yarn, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. Brawl, Even Metroid other M and countless titles to any library from any other console, but see its not about that. I am a lifetime gamer 40+ systems over 1000 real games no ROMS. I care about the experience. I am not loyal to any console maker or company I am loyal to the great experience and passion of gaming.

It seems to me that most so called harcore gamers are really casual gamers who hop in and out of online matches and, some not all, fail to demand a true single player experience. But thats them and I respect it. This console war is sickening. Here is a great thing to ponder, 4 million PS4 sold and over 1 million copies of the same COD and Battlefield that people already bought. I have a PS4 and I still cant figure out what people are playing that is so transformative and entertaining? A better looking COD or 2K14? Killzone? It's not transformative it just another version of the game. The experiences I play on the Wii U cant be played anywhere else: Pikmin, Mario 3DW, 101, even ZombiU makes me thing of the genre differently than before. So you can love the sales but you cant tell me you bought a PS4 just for COD? You did it for the promise of a good game. Not guaranteed good games. These titles are out and you should be buying a Wii U to support great programing that thinks differently. Games dont need to be violent or swear to be good, but that comes with the territory of some genres. It's like saying a pixar or disney movie cant be good because it isnt violent or have swearing.

C'mon gamers where are you. Why are you loyal to companies like Sony, Nintendo, or Xbox (Microsoft). You should demand excellent games not that think and act differently not another COD, 2K14, Madden, Assassin Creed, or Forza. Why should all systems have the same experience? I dont want a system that is a me too. Like you want to play that game I have it on the Wii U (look, me too). Not me I want originality. Give me MadWorld, not because it's violent but because it's like nothing else Ive played in 3 generations of gaming.

If there's one post that should survive once this thread is long gone, it's this one...

I'd like to add, the problem has gotten worse lately. Now that corporate heads have discovered social media, and realised that exploiting certain individuals within the company on said medium. It gives the company a face, makes it appear human and gives people the impression that said companies really care for you.

Ever notice how Sony isn't quite as "trigger happy" with the insults towards it's competitors nowadays? That gives the impression to consumers that they're trying to avoid now: Negativity breeds negativity. It's much more PR friendly to "reach out and touch someone" on social media, which then get said people doing the work defending them, instead of the company itself.

I'm not fingerpointing Sony in particular here. Nintendo were the same in the late 1990s, especially with Hiroshi Yamauchi at the helm...

Love Nintendo for their first party titles which are still tops in the industry, and saving the industry in the mid-late 80's Love Sony for offering a more mature twist on video game's as a grew up, Love Microsoft for making an amazing online infrastructure and throwing money at companies to make exclusives.. Whats not to love about all three, they drive the industry forward!

Xenoblade was phenomenal on the Wii, and is considered one of the greatest JRPG's if not the best of this generation (Wii 360, PS3)

As Captain of the good ship Nintendo, I'm here to just observe more than anything. Though, I hope not to see any needless arguments...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Am I the only one who likes Nintendo?

Seems like Nintendo fans are in the minority these days. Especially on this site.

Peach is a bitch that actually provokes Bowser for kidnapping every time, and Luigi is in on it.

Whatcha gonna do?

I both love and hate different aspects of Nintendo, which is healthy as large corporations are very multi-faceted entities which can be broken down into parts that you think work or don't work. I think it's more unhealthy to treat a company like a person and either love or hate them as a whole which leads to almost almost cult-like devotion and irrational defense of every action or unneeded spite and bitterness towards them.

Anyway, I really love the part of Nintendo that creates software, as they consistently produce good quality games on the whole. I love almost everything about the 3DS side of Nintendo.
What I hate about Nintendo is almost everything to do with their advertising, online structure (both multiplayer and online accounts/store DRM) and whoever thought the gamepad was a good idea and pushed so hard for it.

BTW i'm fully aware the OP was probably a troll, but I thought it was a good opportunity to talk about how you can love and hate many different aspects of the same company.

LOL... lets look at the number of daily doom and hate threads that the Wii U gets... hmmm... no, its pretty obvious lots of people do. Why? Extreme fan behaviour, of course.

Someone who doesnt like their games just ignores them, as would be the normal behaviour, unless they were an unhappy customer. Your comment at saying they are "irrelevant"is hilarious. Look at the top of the hardware sales charts.

If you dont like their games, ignore them. If you hate on them, that is not merely dislike.

I get the feeling this is a bait thread though, and if you ask me, a moderator should close it and give you a warn. Actually i imagine the ****storm that would be going on if someone made a thread like this on the Microsoft section.

It would be healthier for you and everyone who agrees with you to not focus on negative feelings so much. Think more about what you like, and not what you dislike.

Nintendo isn't everyones cup of tea. Some dislike Nintendo, others Sony, and many Microsoft. But we can all agree that they all need each other to survive in the video game business and competition helps to avoid a one sided monopoly in the video game industry.

The OP should know that there are MANY Nintendo haters on the Internet (and for the same reasons), I don't know why do some people make threads like this thinking they are so especial...
