It's almost Icelandic for hard shit...lol

OT: How the hell do people not know what the medulla oblangata is?

You would be surprised by the kind of things we learnt on high school. I do know that it's called "Medula Espinal" In spanish but I never knew it was Medulla Oblaganta in english. Sounds quite extravagant xD.

What's icelandic for hard shit then? Hardur kukur? :D

Also, aren't you some sort of medical student? I wouldn't say medulla oblangata is common knowledge.

Harður kúkur, yeah.

I am, but I learned this shit in the equivalent of high school (actually a bit earlier). Then I learned it again in college and again as a medical student.

I thought everyone learned some anatomy, at least.

I was right!? Lol, Icelandic really is norwegian with ur's at the end. :D

I had to google it, thought it was just a thought up name. Anyways, it's called forlengende marg in Norwegian so I think I was partially excused here.

I actually have an Icelandic girl in my class, she's my neighbour too. Her name is Audur somethingsomethingdottir.

Forlengende marg?? Lol, so random. It's mænukylfa here.

Oooh, is she half Norwegian or something? Why is she in Norway :o

Only half of her is in Norway. The teacher always says her efforts seem half-hearted or even half-assed and that she isn't half as good as the rest of the class, and he's right on all accounts. However, I think she would be distressed if she learned that I'm talking on her be-half.

Half a good afternoon.

I see Mummelmann took a shot at explaining it, but let me simplify it: All of her is Icelandic. She's from Saudarkrokur or something along those lines.

Damn, you're good!

Do her parents live in Norway, then? I mean, one doesn't just move from Sauðárkrókur to Norway to study (as a teenager, which I assume she is)

The whole family moved. They're almost my neighbours actually.

Medulla Oblongata... who the hell is named like that?

I heard a radio broadcast by Gunnar Hardkuk once.

Fyi, hard kuk is Norwegian for hard dick.

And no, I'm not joking.

LOL, Some people really love their kids... and some are just cruel, or some people just like to change their name to something weird xD.

I also have a weird anecdote about that. My mother as a friend who has a twin, and here is the thing... One is called "Bienvendio" (Welcome) and the other is called "Domingo" (Sunday). They got that name because they where born on a Sunday morning. It's cute I guess but damn... they got laughed at school for years.

A girl in my class is named Helga, and Helga is the norwegian word for weekend. Poor thing heard the same puns every friday for years xD She thought it was funny though, so we were ok with it.

I keep sending Facebook friends requests to Helga Knull, but she won't accept them. Can't blame her I guess, but would be sweet to have her as a friend to tag in numerous posts.

Great article, had a bit of a giggle at it; though part of me is sad that the Wii U didn't suddenly sell 5m units overnight as I'd love it to succeed. Something needs to challenge Sony dominance this generation, and considering Microsoft is coming up with new and inventive ways to shit itself publicly, I don't expect MS to step up to the plate any time soon.

Sony's monopoly would be the least harmful monopoly for the industry.

I wouldn't be so sure. I firmly believe the PS3 is only as good as it is, with some of the best exclusives on the market, because it was in third place for most of the generation and had something to prove. Any company with a clear market dominance will become complacent and anti-consumer greed will start to creep in. I hope Sony doesn't disappoint me, but I expect to be very pissed off with them at least once over the next few years.

During sony monopoly ps1 and ps2 sold for small price with profit, during ps3 Sony in 3rd big price and at loss recovering marketshare medium price and small  profit or loss... Which sony is better? I preffer the one dominating.

And on the medula anyone with highschool should know at least it's a part of the body. But some people doesn't want to study.

Yep thats high school level and even if u dont remember learning about it, surely everyone has seen Waterboy.

Also how could anyone believe an article that says a man fell, shattered his wrist and couldnt wait to recover so he could play Wii U?

Phisyotherapy with wiimote or ds4 is easy one needs the weight of wiibrick to recover.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

The article is so obviously a joke to anyone who reads any further than the title. But what amazes me is the amount of venom contained in the responses from people taking it seriously. "I don't know anyone who even owns a Wii U.", "No one I know has even heard of a Wii U." Seriously? If you have no interest in Nintendo's hardware/software, why would it bother you whether it did or didn't sell 5 million consoles last month. I know at least 4 people who have a 3DS and I street pass strangers with them all the time. I don't know a single person who has a Vita, nor have I ever seen someone on the street with one. But, if one day Vita sales exploded, would it piss me off? Of course not. I enjoy my 3DS, and how many units its competitor sells isn't going to change that for good or for bad. Despite people talking about Xbox One supply constraints, I see them readily available everywhere I go, and have seen them available since well before Christmas. But if it had sold out completely, would that tarnish the enjoyment I have with my Wii U? Of course not! But, I guess that all depends on what kind of personality you have and whether or not you are happy with your own life.

it's a satire article that's meant to show you that console sales don't affect the fun you'll have with it, and is pretty much directed at the delusional people who think that the amount of fun they'll have with a certain plaform is measured by how much it sold.

Tell me, how many games havent been announced for the Wii U because of its sales dont make it a viable machine to sell your game on? So, I guess it does have an effect

No it does not, the Wii proved that good sales do not mean getting third party support.

Seems as some of you guys are already in this subject, I guess I should throw it out there that there's a girl in my class called Anal :P
