How are pure 100% assumptions perfect sense? Using assumptions is the exact opposite. It's nonsense.

Anyway I've let go of this argument. Moving on..

Just like your assumption that it's the same?

Based on current information, it is the same. Aside from 4 games announced (lol) there's nothing that has been officially provided that differentiates it from Onlive. Meaning, I didn't present an assumption. I presented facts based on current information.

No, you didn't.

"In my view, there's nothing different."

In the first quote, you present the blanket assertion that Sony brings nothing to the table that Onlive didn't, whereas you recently implicitly (if not explicitly) admitted you have no idea.

In the second quote, you present the same supposition, but as an opinion instead of a fact.  The only facts you presented in the OP are "Onlive was criticized and PS Now is being praised, and I hate that."

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

Ooops :P

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

The games and Sony's track record speak for themselves.

I don't belive they will add ALL PS1, PS2 and PS3 games.

Nor should they.  They're plenty of crappy games that should never see the light of day again.  Start with the most popular and critically acclaimed ones and go from there.

People are now putting down an ONLINE service because they have a slow internet connection?? Seriously, that's like saying PC games are bad because you have a crappy PC and can't run the game without issues.

This is a service for the future not really right now. They are setting them self's up for success down the line.

For the next 5/7 years ill still be all about PS4 and actually buying the media. But some I'm sure will go towards PSNow sooner then others and abandon the idea of a physical console.

Does anyone have any links as to how this actually works? The only way I can see is if it stores some info on the device itself so as to avoid lag?

Probably there is nothing on the device. It's actually simpler than it looks. Your device receives a compressed video of the game using some lightweight codec. If your connection allows you to see HD YouTube videos, this will be fine. Your input will be captured and uploaded to the server (that will translate that to game input). It's similar to what happens on an online match of any game, where your current status must be uploaded to server all time. It's just a tiny amount of bytes. The problem here is latency, your current ping to the server. The solution for that is to have the server as close as possible from the user, so it's more about having more geographically distributed data centers. Because of that, expect the service to be released for countries, waiting for analysis of the quality of service and then expanding it to other places.

Thanks. If the compression isn't too bad this could be awesome.

Hands on: PlayStation Now Game Streaming

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/01/08/hands-on-playstation-now-game-streaming/

Thanks. Looks interesting.

1) Yes, the games

2) The company backing it is involved in the console wars and is apparently very invested in it, they likely intend for this to be their future after consoles are a thing of the past, so it's really exciting to think this the beginning of the end in a way

3) You can stream on Vita and other mobile devices that would never be able to run games like the Last of Us, not just on PC which could run everything OnLive could if you were willing to pay for the proper GPU/CPU

Yeah it's going to suck ass at first, personally I suspect it's going to suck all gen... But it's just the beginning. It's exciting.
