Ofcourse most people bashing now are Sony fans, just happy to have something to bash while it really doesn't matter

Well it is also pretty normal to expect an increased player count when you move a new gen.  I would honestly dissapointed if Halo 5 would not have a incread player count in MP..

I know right? How disappointed was I when I learned that Killer Instinct is STILL a 1 vs 1 fighting game.

At this point, fighting games should be at least 8 vs 8 !!!

Yeah It is indeed a dissapointment, we already did it last gen 7vs7 so why they not allow it for next gen?

Thank god! I miss the old 4v4 halo days. I never liked super high player counts. What's the point? It just seems like something to boast about technically rather than having something meaningful- battlefield 4 64 players, mag 128 player, resistance 2 60 players... all pretty bad. No tight teamwork, no clear objective, etc.

Oh and in games where there are less players  individual skill/teamplay matters more. It's not like Battlefield where you are just running around shooting whatever just for the hell of it.

I'm tipping you either haven't played Battlefield 4 or you're really, really bad at it with that opinion.

The Battlefield games are all about tight teamwork, tactics, and clear objectives. What they are not about is just running around and just shooting whatever as you put it.

You're kidding, right? You call this a 7v7 fighting game?

You're standards are low. When they make 7v7 simultaneously, you may have a case. Until then, it falls quite flat.

I trust Zampella over a bunch of people on GAF or VGChartz.

Do any of you play Last of Us and its awesome 8 player online and think it sucks because it should be more than 8?

I swear to GOD, I knew you were gonna type this sentence into this thread  the second i saw the title.

Not that I think quality of multiplayer depends on player count, but TLoU MP is about tactics, stealth, survival and slow paced teamwork.Small player count works perfectly well for it. Action and shooting are not even remotely the main focus of the multiplayer, whereas they play a much bigger role in a game like Titanfall, who tries to create this action filled battlefield atmosphere with gigantic robots and parkour soldiers

@bold, thank you. I like to make logical points.

Action and shooting are a key part of LoU's MP. There are modes in the game built entirely around them. Now, the maps and gameplay are designed so that the game is balanced with 4 players on each team. If you put 8 players on each team in LoU, it would be impossible to utilize the stealth or crafting elements of MP. If Titanfall had 12 vs 12 or something, the developers feel the Titan aspect of the game and all the wall running and double jumping would be unbalanced.

Maybe try playing the game before deciding whether or not something works perfectly well for it.

So the Xbone version won't be much better the 360 version. The game is already running in 720p on Xbox one and now the max amount of players is 12? So much for a system seller hopefully that number increases once TF2 hits PS4 and 1080p wouldn't hurt either.

What in the worlds does player count have to do with system power?

Sounds like with AI, the maps were already crowded enough.

This sums it up.

well you're banned so it's probably not even worth responding but...

...in the way that ai is never up to par to the intelligence of a human.   maybe titanfall will have revolutionary ai but i doubt it.  if rolling over thousands of enemies is your thing there is single player modes and co-op/horde modes.   but in competitive multiplayer,..  to quote kyliedog  "...and AI bots in competitive matches is a joke."  bots are subpar to a real human and just aren't as fun to play against.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-1768471.html

It seems most of the people complaining about AI in the MP don't understand how the AI is supposed to work. They aren't bots designed to combat the human players and offer significant challenge. Think of them as any run of the mill AI enemy you'd play in the campaign.

Also, last I checked, Dota 2 is the most popular competitive game around last I checked (on Steam anyway), and it has AI in it that works exactly like Titanfalls.

Thanks god. I was really afraid a Battlefield like game (with more than 8/12 players).
I enjoy 2v2/4v4 in shooters in general. This is good a news for me while I believe I'm in a small boat :)

You are the majority of FPS players not the minority. Anyone who tells you otherwise simply needs to look at the most popular games in the genre for the past 12 years+.

I don´t want bots. what is that shite? goldeneye or what!?

Well enough teams who play with 5 vs 5 or 7 vs 7 this way, if it is not good enough for you standards its fine by me but gamers love to have that option when a game doesn't have that option it is never a good thing...
