Forums - Gaming - Titanfall max player count is 12 players - 6 v 6 battles with AI

Did they say how long the multiplayer campaign will be?

"The campaign plays the levels with their missions in a specific order to tell the story,” McCoy said. “Each campaign level has its own game mode – it’s not like you’ll play Attrition, then another time you’ll play a different mode. In the campaign, Angel City is Attrition. That’s the story for that level.”

This is as far as we know, so will probably be short - as the campaign mode will essentially act as a sequentially staged mutliplayer game and we'd probably get per map,

So much for the power of the cloud.

6v6 on it's own can be fun but as a max this is pretty disappointing. i've always prefered the 32 player maps personally and at least having some bigger maps helps add a lot of variety to a game. being multiplayer only it seems like they ought to have at least got to some 24 player maps.

But what if there are atleast 24 players on each map, along with Titans and such, only that 12 of the players are AI controlled? It shouldn´t make any difference for the players but could even out the difficulty so you can actually finish the levels :)

it's not like titanfall is the first game to add bots to a match before.  ...and traditionally the bots make gameplay worse.

In what way?

well you're banned so it's probably not even worth responding but...

...in the way that ai is never up to par to the intelligence of a human.   maybe titanfall will have revolutionary ai but i doubt it.  if rolling over thousands of enemies is your thing there is single player modes and co-op/horde modes.   but in competitive multiplayer,..  to quote kyliedog  "...and AI bots in competitive matches is a joke."  bots are subpar to a real human and just aren't as fun to play against.

Typical responses here. Everyone pretty much followed the company line. If your a PS fan, 6X6 is not enough. If your an Xbox fan it sounds good to great. Just typical.

I have an XB1, so of course I will play the game and enjoy it for what it is. When Titanfall 2 comes out, it will probably have more player options as it won't be made for the 360/PS3 generation. Everyone here always wants a new IP to have every little thing they liked in some other game, and you haven't even tried this game yet???

Play the game and then decide. That's what rentals are for if you don't want to spend the money.

It is near the end of the end....

How do you capture the information that the Cloud is processing on the PC game?

Xbox Live Cloud is processing the AI, some physics and is swallowed in the dedicated servers of Xbox Live Cloud ON PC as well as The One.

Microsoft have opened it up on PC to Respawn to. Because Respawn said in June they were having to re engineer the PC version so it wont have all the bells and whistles. They were touting the Xbox One version as the better version then. But now the Cloud is available to PC gamers they arent having to gimp it.

It needs The Cloud to run. Not just play on.

*boggle* Ok I understand they were pushing cloud as PR speak but come on! Dedicated server has been a thing way way WAY before cloud was even a buzz word. All using XBox Live does is limit the potential for other providers to host dedicated servers.

My ISP always host dedicated servers for popular online shooters and all using the XBLive Cloud service does is cut them off from providing this. And since I live in Australia I will likely be getting worse ping than if they had allowed dedicated server hosting down here.

I trust Zampella over a bunch of people on GAF or VGChartz.

Do any of you play Last of Us and its awesome 8 player online and think it sucks because it should be more than 8?

I swear to GOD, I knew you were gonna type this sentence into this thread  the second i saw the title.

Not that I think quality of multiplayer depends on player count, but TLoU MP is about tactics, stealth, survival and slow paced teamwork.Small player count works perfectly well for it. Action and shooting are not even remotely the main focus of the multiplayer, whereas they play a much bigger role in a game like Titanfall, who tries to create this action filled battlefield atmosphere with gigantic robots and parkour soldiers

The power of the cloud "jokes" weren't funny at the start of the thread and they certainly aren't better now. If you wanna discuss your views on the maximum number of players in Titanfall please feel free to do so but anyone making hit and run comments about the cloud will be moderated from now on.

Gears of War is all about tactics, but fast-paced action with a bit of teamwork manages to win almost all matches. Action and shooting are the key, and once again, that game is 5 vs 5. Matches are intense.

So once again, until any of us sees the 6 vs 6 players in action, we shouldn't judge. It can be either a disaster, or a great move. Let's us just wait, Titanfall is almost here.

Wait...

So a "War-torn planet" means 12 people?

Something doesnt quite add up here Respawn

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

Wow.

So wouldn't the infinite power of the cloud allow more players on xbone ?
