For my purchased PS3 games like The Last of Us, do I still need to pay for PS Now to play this on my PS4? (Instead of switching out my PS4 to PS3 on my TV to play this game)

Didn't Kaz made fun of the cloud to announce...a cloud service?

Anyway I'm with eFKac on this one, but it depends on how many games are available on this service. Why would I ever buy more than 1 device when I can just buy 1 and play all games in there? I honestly don't understand this. Depending on how they manage this it could potentially hurt some hardware sells.

Edit: is it just to play old games?  well in that case this doesn't matter.

It's basically BC.

The two main announcements today are all to push sony hardware.

That is the only reason for this.

Now, the question is.  Is it enough to pursuade the buying public to buy a sony tv, a vaio or a tablet.

THAT is what this is about.  This is the end game of what sony has been trying to do for the last 5 years.

if they succeed and people start buying sony hardware to get to this content then sony is back

if they fail... they are fucked.  Its really that simple.

Isnt it the opposite. Yes of course they *want* people to buy the hardware, but its all about services. Selling services (such as music/films and games) content is better if more devices can access it. They can make lots of cash from both hardware and those using non sony devices. It's a win win *if* they can get people to stop using other services such as netflix/lovefilm etc and subscribe (and this has the added benefit of games).

I can see what they are doing really, they are hoping the gaming side will probably help launch it and get a user base which will get others acros.. though I wouldnt have called it playstation now to be fair. Sony Now would have been better.

Not that I am convinced that PS3 games will work that well over Gaikai.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Seems like PS3 has lost its chance to surpass Wii sales

So...can I play PS3 games like The Last of Us without owning any Playstation devices? Or do you have to have some sort of Playstation device?

For now seems like Vita, Bravia, Xperia and Sony Tablets but it will works with any device in the future.

Oh that is sick. If I can play it through my computer I'm totally subscribing to that service.

Does they not hurt their own PlayStation Hardware sales with this when their games are directly available over the Sony Bravia TV's?

They're not streaming PS4 games, this is for people who want backwards compatiblity without having to buy an older system.

Ok ;)

I think maybe for you to purchase games on any device like TV's and phones there will be a playstation store app or something you would download first to be able to buy and play the sony games.
