SNES to Genesis. No reason other than my parents got me and my brother a Genesis for Christmas and we had to pass our SNES down to our sister. SNES to Playstation. Better graphics than the Genesis, and the games seemed cooler than what was for the N64. Been with Playstation ever since, but I want to get a Nintendo system again eventually.

SNES -> PC -> PC -> PC -> PC & PS3 -> PC

How it will be in the future: -> PC

I'm a big fan of Japanese style games so those are usually my top priority when buying a console. I try to make exceptions here and there to spice things up like I ended up picking up a Xbox One instead of a PS4 this winter (my properties for that console is still D4 and MGS V though).

I'll pick up a PS4 sooner or later this year and eventually that game library might surpass my Xbox counterpart's like what happened to my 360 but until the day comes I'm looking forward to what Xbox has to offer for their new console and naively see what they do for Japan.

I might not always like Nintendo's business policies but I've always loved their games and they are always welcome to the family.

After the SNES I moved pretty much moved to exclusively PC gaming.

And why? Price and backwards compatibility.
I like the fact I can launch a 2 decade year old game and loose myself in it.
Also, games are far far cheaper.

I dabbled into PC gaming on the side occasionally, but Nintendo and I went to counseling and agreed that having her on the side actually improved our relationship during dry spells, so as of last year I have the best of both words.

I was a master system and nes man then supernes and genesis, then n64 and PlayStation. Had a Saturn but it didn't have the games beyond arcade attempts. Mario 64 was magic and ocanara was incredible but mgs ff7 and dozens more won the day. By GC Nintendo lost allall third party support. Ps2 was the renaissance of console gaming. Love Xbox for the innovation. KOTAR and Halo were the future. 360 and live was a trip to the new world. Sadly they got greedy and eschewed the core, focused on that Wii money. Even worse Xbox stayed on that wrong direction, particularly so from year 4. Gave up Mass Effect exclusive and Gears got worse with each iteration. PlayStation remained steady and built from the core after crashing in their arrogance. Provided a steady stream of high quality exclusives while my former fav focused on Kinect, which still hasnt (and can't) prove it makes for better games.

So Xbox chased after mobile gamers trying to be Wii and Nintendo stopped trying to be the best by looking completely inward, and Sony maintained being well above average but not the best in any category but the most reliable and never the worst in anything.

No brand loyalty just games, avoiding exploitation as much possible

Bought a ps4 but if my phone that I buy every 2 years at a subsidized price ever get AAA Dev support , a proper controller and connects to my TV then I'll play gta , bf, division and destiny on that. 

My sister owned a SNES and I wanted something of my own so I got a Genesis.

Genesis games weren't as fun as the SNES games (nothing like Mario Kart and DKC), so I switched back to Nintendo with the N64. Got a PS1 too because why not? Was Nintendo/Sony for 2 gens.

PS1 broke in 2001 after 5 years of solid use, so I bought a PS2. It broke after 6 years, and because both of my Playstations broke at the end of the gen (forcing me to buy another console, or upgrade), I bought a 360 in spite of Sony. Plus the PS3 was $600 at the time, and 360 had Gears of War and the then exclusive Lost Planet.

Not going to bother typing the hell I went through with my 360. Basically I sent it in 11 times, had it replaced with broken consoles, and had a shit experience with MS customer service (which pretty much told me to f*** off when my steering wheel broke), but.... I never had to buy a second console because I bought an extended warrenty at Best Buy .

Going back to WiiU/PS4 because those 2 gens I was Nintendo/Sony, were perfect.

As for Handhelds, I've always been Nintendo, but I did get a PSP after Gran Turismo and I do like it as a secondary handheld. I will get a Vita when it gets some good exclusives (like a Gran Turismo), I don't really care about PSX or PS3 games on the go (my PSP plays PSX so ).

I've also been meh with Sega. I own a Genesis/CD/Dreamcast, and plan to buy a Saturn, but they were always that "other" console which I had. They had some great games, but nothing too crazy. If they were still around, I'd likely still buy a new Sega as well.

Summary: Reliability concerns steer me away, and fun multiplayer (local), and interesting single player draws me in.

After my ps1, i stopped console gaming and started playing only pc games (except for my GBA). Until now, my pc is getting outdated and i'm thinking of switching back and buy the ps4.

Oh i lied, i totally forgot about my wii. 

SEGA stopped making consoles............ end of story.

I was a Nintendo Fan all the way from 1989 to 2004. Then came the DS and I didn't like it at all. Touchscreen, 2 DIsplays, what is that? I just want a new GBA! Well, what do you know, the PSP looked just like a new GBA! So I bought that sucker, although I was a little skeptical, because it's from Sony and all. I didn't like Sony back then. But the PSP was a blast. Great games, great hardware and dat Homebrew! I just played Nintendo games on that beautiful screen! I love my PSP until this very day. Really.

When it comes to consoles, the Wii turned me off just like the DS did. I bought it anyway, but didn't have much fun with it. Also, the graphics felt so much last gen. I couldn't stand it, especially not on an HDTV. So I got myself an Xbox 360 in like early 2007 I think. It was good enough, except for that EXTREME noise. I'm not kidding. But that wasn't the real problem. You do know that those Boxes tended to break back then? Yeah, what should I say. After 9 defective Xbox 360 consoles, I decided to just get myself a PS3, even though I still was skeptical about Sony. They always were the bad guys in my book. But it turned out that the PS3 is the only console out of the three that is running until this very day without ANY problems at all. Also, dem exclusive games. I fell in love with Sony in the last couple of years to be honest. So that's why I'll probably stick to them a little longer. Already got the PS4 an I love it. :)
