In his defense, 15 million COULD happen under the following scenario:

another 50-100 dollar price cut, ditch the stupid gamepad, re-name it, re-launch a new market campaign, bundle bundle and more bundling (must release top software and the sooner the better).

Will this happen? Probably not. Just bookmark these hilarious predict threads and re-quote people at the end of the year.

Which are the possible system sellers you have in mind?  MK 8, Smash Bros. (Did they confirm SB's for 2014 yet- i think so but can t remember specifically)

What else?  I think X will be a system seller but not very confdent it will come out in 2014 (I hope it will though)

DKTF?  sytem seller?  that cold be one, Zelda will be one but who knows when it will be released-   Nintendo has not even confiemd Bayonetta, Fire Emblem among others yet for 2014

I don't think they should, but I wouldn't attack anybody who does.

I think it will sell at least 5 million this year as is. With moves such as a hot new unannounced titles, another $50 price cut or other initiatives, it could hit 10 million. My expectation is about 7 or 8 million sold based on a solid doubling of the sales rate with the better price/bundles/games already out there, the death of PS360 and a good spring sales surge pushed by MarioKart 8. So around 13 million or more by the end of 2014.

He never said they should ditch it, all he said is its possible they sell more if they make it optional. They could easily do this.
