i don't see people talking about it much but 360 outsold the PS3 this week. Basically now that PS3's Japanese sales have dried up the 360 is getting help. The 360 should be able to drop the price a lot too, and if the xbone isn't that successful it might leave room for the 360 to sell more still. One thing that PS3 has going for it is that Europe and others sales are usually the last to go and PS3 has that locked up. Not making a prediction just some observations.

PS3 103 million
360 91 million

90 million for XBox 360.
100 million for PS3.
PS3 can sell 18 million over the next 4 years.
XBox 360 can sell 9 million over the next 2 years.

ps3: 105-110m if it still in market at 2020, what i believe.
x360: 85-90 m, seems that MS is abandoning the x360, since One was released(look at the exclusives)

Got to laugh at people predicting PS3 to hit barely 90M or slightly more. By the end of next year, it should be ~89M-90M. Do people seriously think it will only sell a couple more million after another price cut and at least 2 more years (probably discontinued in '17-'18) of sales?

I can see the PS3 hitting 100m eventually. There're still a number of exclusives coming to the PS3 in 2014 (ie. Persona 5, Tales of Xillia 2, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD, Hohokum, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix, Drakengard 3, etc)

Why people think PS3 can open a 10mi gap with the 360?

This year, the best for "the gap" was only like 2mi, geting to a 1mi lead.

Next year both sales will fell more than 50%, the gap will be only 1mi, 3mi total... and so on...

My prediction:

PS3: 94mi
360: 90mi

Sales have fallen 50% in 2013, "only" 7mi sold, they can fell even more in 2014 with the next generation.

What games people buy PS3 for? What feature the PS3 has the next generation consoles don´t?

And how can it open a 9mi gap in the next 4 years if in the last 4 years never reached more than 2mi advantage (accordingly to VGChartz).???
